| Most of the cabinets in our kitchen are painted white, but I have one section that I have kept a different color over the years . |

| For the last 7 years this section of cabinets have been painted a pale green. I thought a pale pink might be a better fit for the kitchen this time. I also took this opportunity to change out some of the door knobs too. I had a few rose knobs left over from the island redo, so I put them on my new pink cabinet. I bought two crystal knobs for the big center cabinets, they look dark in the photo but they really shine in the sunlight. I took down the greenery garland over the cabinets and replaced it with some rose garland. I also put a different lamp on the top of the refrigerator. We keep this lamp on all the time, but mainly it's used as a night light. |

| The cabinets over the refrigerator were in a real mess. I had run out of places to stash the pretty dishes that I have been buying at the auction and I started putting them on the top of the refrigerator and in the shelves above. I was able to put these dishes in the new buffet that H built for the kitchen and get rid of the mess. I am really going to try to curb my addiction to buying pretty dishes at the auction...I promise.....well, maybe just the REALLLY pretty ones....hehehe! |

| We are ready to start painting the inside of the cabinets now.....it's a boring job, but it really needs to be done as they are still the original dark wood color. |
Just when I thought the white looked great, the pink makes them even better! It's the perfect shade and my most personal favorite. ;)

ReplyDeleteI loved the splash of green in your Kitchen and i also love the splash of pink too!! Pink better suits you , I think! I would love to take a door or 2 off my kitchen cupboards to use as display but because I do not have a lot of cupboards to begin with, I really can't do that because they are jam packed with stuff!! Once I can get a handle on taking down Christmas and decorating for Valentine's Day, I will start a house hold purge. And the Kitchen cupboards is where I am going to start!!
Your kitchen is so bright and now i see why. You have not only one huge overhead light but 2!!!

ReplyDeleteI think I like the pink better! The pale green was lovely..but the change is wonderful! That pig! He was so cute on the island..but he is just as sweet where he is now. HOW I would love to paint my cabinets..something light and bright. Your kitchen is ..just wonderful. It looks very large in the photo's..and now you have that sweet eating bar. We end up eating in front of the TV for the evening news..something I swore I would NEVER do! :) I love the way you used the painting to block the open cupboard!! SO many cute idea's. Dishes! Yes..I rather have that addiction too.

I would love to do something with my cabinets... they are all still the original wood stained inside and out, and in fact, the wall at the back of all of cabinets isn't even painted--just the drywall with a little texturing splashed across it.
