The Christmas theme for my kitchen this year is "No Place like home for the Holidays" I thought it was a perfect theme choice since the kitchen is the "Heart of the Home" |
I will be creating vignettes on the kitchen counters with all kinds of "homes" that I have added Penny touches to. |
Today I wanted to share the home that I created for the pass thru between the kitchen and the family living/dining room. |
The center piece for this vignette is a home that I built as a Christmas gift for my mother more than 20 years ago. You can see in the photo above that I gave her home a complete makeover.....if you missed that post click here....http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2016/10/doll-house-makeover-for-christmas.html |
I set a stocking holder Santa and sleigh on the porch...... |
I potted most of my small Christmas trees in silver sugar and creamers. |
The trees on each side of the house are decorated with chandys, pearls and a few bouquets of roses/ |
I have mixed crystal and pink chandys on the pink vintage bottle brush tree. |
On the other side of the house, I have a pink Santa's..... |
Orny Christmas trees....... |
and a pink Santa with the sweetest face. |
On the right side of the house I also have a white ceramic tree. Did you notice that I have my house sitting on a small pink buffet?.....I'll explain the reason for that in a minute. |
Let's peek around the corner and look at the back side of the house. |
This side of the house faces the living/dining room side of the pass thru. |
This is how this side looked before the makeover. I took the before photo after the burgandy carpet had already been removed. |
Now to explain why I have the house on a buffet platform.......See the basement window behind the Let it Snow Sign? |
I wanted my house to have a basement and that is how I accomplished it. |
The first floor has a sofa and a black baby grand piano.....and the second floor is the bathroom |
I have some small Victorian dolls sitting around the house..... |
The basement is a large bedroom and play area..... |
The bedroom set and black baby grand piano are the only new pieces, the rest were in the house when I gave it to my mother for Christmas. |
Love the miniature carousel horse |

I love these colors! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!!
I am speechless!! LOVE IT!!!
Okay, I am not that speechless as I have a bunch of questions...
Did you make all your bottle brush trees with the ornaments?
Where did you get those pink trees and did we see them before???
I can't remember if you painted that tree white or did you buy it that way?
And last question
How is H doing?
Sending prayers for a speedy recovery to him!!
Love all of it!!
Joe and I have been working on the outside because the weather has been warm for this time of year but by next weekend, they are predicting snow showers so I want to have the outside finished by then....
Hugs,
Deb

I hope Mr. H . recover good & will be back on his feet by the end of the month. Can you tell us if he has been feeling bad or did this just happen. I will be thinking about you also. ReplyDeleteI love all your beautiful village houses and decorations. They are so exquisite. I put up a Christmas Village but I could only dream of one this beautiful. My grandson like to get in mine and Play Tornado. He doesn't break anything (yet), but it is cute and he is so funny, I let him. Nanas do that, don't they?
