Corrugated Metal Backsplash and new Window Treatment in the Kitchen

I had been eyeing the pieces of corrugated metal that were left over from when we put a new roof on the greenhouse last summer.    The leftover pieces weren't very big,   but H measured them and they were just big enough to do a little project in the kitchen.

I personally wouldn't want my whole kitchen done with a corrugated metal backsplash,   but I have to admit that I do like some of the industrial farmhouse pieces that I've seen.

I have to continually clean the area behind the sink because the white backsplash I had there showed every little spot.   I'm hoping that the new metal backsplash will not show dirt as bad as the white did.    I know,  I know,   just because you can't see dirt doesn't mean it isn't there,     but I think I can live with that....lol!

The other left over piece was just (barely )  big enough to cover the area behind the stove.

The new metal backsplash will be much easier to clean than what I had there before.

I also changed out the window treatment in the kitchen to give it a fresh look.         (Did you notice the new pumpkin rug in front of the sink?     I've been to Big Lots.....they have lots of neat fall stuff for your home this year.)

I used some fabric that I've had on hand for several years to make my kitchen curtains.

I love toile,   don't you?    Gives my Farmhouse kitchen a little touch of French Farmhouse!

I went with the no valance look this time for my window treatment.     It really lets the light flood the kitchen during the day.

I also like the fact that I can draw the curtains closed if I want to.

There is another window in the kitchen that I have to design a new window treatment for,   so I'll be back to share how it looks when I finish

I always enjoy your visits so much,   please come back soon!

  1. I love all your changes . . . very crisp and uncluttered. I need to do a little uncluttering too. The French farmhouse look is perfect for your kitchen. Love what you have done.

  2. Good morning, Penny, Oh, I do like the new look in the kitchen. The tin gives the back splashes an interesting look that I really like. I like the curtains without the valance. Nice, nice choice.
    Thanks.

  5. What a fascinating idea! I would never have considered using corrugated metal that way, but it looks fantastic.

  6. That corrugated metal backsplash is a great idea, Penny. May have to think about that for my own wee kitchen! Putting behind the sink and stove really ties it together, too! Thanks for joining us at Tuesday Turn About!
