Sunflowers and Roses

The hallway in our home that takes you to the bedrooms,  baths,  and utility room is pretty long and has a wide spot at the end of it.

I have the hallway decorated in a late summer / early fall theme using sunflowers and a scattering of pink roses here and there

I shared some details and close up's of this end of the hallway in an earlier post 

Here's the "wide spot in the road" at the end of the hall where there is a built in linen closet.    The built in linen closet was originally a dark brown wood and had doors on it making the hallway really dark.     What a difference some white paint and lighting made to this end of the hall.

The addition of  mirrors on the wall across from the linen cabinet reflects the lights and makes the hallway really bright and cheerful.     

Without the doors on the cabinet,   I can enjoy seeing my ever growing collection of linens every time I make a trip to the back of the house  (which is about a 100 times a day....lol)

I live in Eastern New Mexico and farmers in the surrounding areas grow big fields of sunflowers.    Sorry about the quality of this photo,   I took it from the car.....while we were still moving!

Sunflowers also grow wild along the road.....you can see the freshly plowed field in the distance.

A couple of years ago,   I took this photo of a pumpkin field not too far from our home.   Farmers sometimes plant sunflowers in between the rows of pumpkins in our area.   If you look real close,   you can see the pumpkins laying on the ground.

I had wild sunflowers growing in a bed next to the potting shed a couple of years ago.     I plan on putting out some seeds in this flower bed again in a few weeks so I can have wild sunflowers next summer.
