Happy New Year from Sunny New Mexico

Happy New Year from sunny New Mexico!

The sun is shining today and we're expecting a high of 57.....what a great way to start the new year.

I packed away all the Christmas decor in the kitchen a couple of days ago.    It was hard to decided what to come back in with.....winter decor?.....or what!     I finally decided to just decorate with some of the Farmhouse decor I had on hand that I use year round.

I dug into my stash of canvas prints and picked out a few of my favorites......

H and I made New Years eve dinner for the family yesterday so we are having left overs today......pork roast and all the trimmings.      We plan on spending a quiet day here at home.......

I took some of my photo's late in the afternoon yesterday and a few this morning.   You can see in the ones I took yesterday that the sun was starting to set.

I am going to miss my poinsettia tree,   but the residents at a nearby nursing home will enjoy them for a while longer.

Now....for a look at the new decor in the kitchen

I hope you enjoyed my new year tour of the kitchen and will come back soon for a visit!

H and I want to wish you all a Happy New Year!

  1. Penny I like how you decorate, I do it the same, decorate for every season and holiday. But I have noticed you have cut down on things, like your kitchen, the counters are not as decorated in so many things out, Is there a reason for that.

  2. Dear Penny...you probably think I fell off the face of the planet---but I have had to switch browsers to have my comments register...something about changes made to my computer in October---SO for all your lovely decorating---I LOVED it all...especially your sunroom through the holidays. I think you should clone and sell those sheep pillows...my goodness, how adorable!

I love the airy-ness of your kitchen. I know when cooking for a big crowd...you just plain need room to work. While all the vignettes are adorable---workspace is precious even in your fabulous island! I know as soon as I can get on a stool...still hobbling...I need to deep clean all my cupboards and the lighted cabinets. Oil my wood counters and simplify for the winter season. Hope you enjoy the new year, and thanks for all the adorable inspirations!

  9. Penny, I love, love, love your white kitchen with all the counterspace. It just looks sooo clean and bright. I like the animal canvases, too, especially the one of the sheep. It all looks so fresh and nice after the Christmas decor. Perfect.
