Kicking off my Fall Decorating

School has started and Labor Day is just around the corner......fall can't be far behind!
I'm not one to put off decorating for holidays and seasons  until the last minute so I'm going to start gradually adding fall touches to our home now.    For me,   it's still a little early to bring out my brightly colored fall decor so I'm going to ease into season with some muted fall colors.

H & I start our day here in the family dining room with a cup of tea and a piece of toast ,   so it seemed like a good idea to start my fall decorating in here.

I used a simple ceramic pumpkin as the centerpiece for the family dining room table......

I created a fall floral design to put on the table under the window.....and hung a paper leaf wreath that I made on the leaded glass piece hanging in the window.

I found some fall artwork on Pinterest.....printed them on my home printer,  and framed the prints.

I freshened the metal basket I have hung in the pass thru between the kitchen and family dining area.

I couldn't just leave the display cabinet on the other end of the dinning room undecorated......

I haven't unpacked any of my fall decor totes yet so I didn't have anything to put out on the cabinet. .     The ceramic pumpkin on the table was safely stored in the top of my closet.....I've found that those kind of things don't do well in a tote with other items....lol!      So,  I was at a loss as to what to put on the cabinet to give it a fall look.

Then I remembered that I had picked up a fall truck at Hobby Lobby the other day.    I picked it up with something else in mind,   but it will work perfect here for now..

I always enjoy your visits so much and am delighted that you stopped by to see how I've kicked off my fall decorating     Come back soon!

  4. Good morning Penny, I love the pumpkin. It is lovely. I would find a place I could keep it out all the time. It would be a traveler.
    Thanks for sharing.

  6. I've been wondering where you store all your pretties! Do you have a room just devoted to decor storage? I need ideas...

  9. Your house is just so beautiful! My fall decorating has been pretty limited so far; I tend to like the bright fall colors! My red metal truck from Hobby Lobby has small orange pumpkins in it!
