I have been searching for a vintage Battenburg lace table runner for a while now and have not been able to find one that I loved so I decided to make one using a tablecloth that I had on hand. |
As you can see in the before photo, I was unable to stop the puckering around the lace. I simply cut the fabric away from the lace......not a quick task...lol....about 3 hours! |
I am really pleased with the way my runner turned out......I love it! |
After I created a centerpiece for the table, I added some spring touches to the fireplace mantel |
I hung a new picture or three...lol. over the buffet. You have seen all of these pics many times in different rooms in the house. |
The formal dining room is all ready for our family to enjoy Easter dinner together..... |
That looks lovely! What a great idea; now you have something you can really use without all the odd puckering.
ReplyDeleteVery creative and so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I have a round Battenburg lace tablecloth. My sister gave it to me as a house warming gift about 30 years ago. I love it! I give you credit for being brave enough to cut yours. It really came out pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour table runner turned out so beautiful! What a great idea!
ReplyDeletePretty. The fabric must be washed before sewing otherwise it does that.
