Easter Cross & a Tour of my Sanctuary / Prayer Room

H made a wooden  cross for me way back in 2014 and over the years it has made  appearances in the master bedroom,  on the front porch,   and in the studio     It was long due for a makeover and I decided that Easter 2022 was the perfect time to give it a fresh new look AND a new home.

My cross found a new home on the door of my Sanctuary / Prayer Room in the back yard.

I also gave it a complete makeover......

The old lights had quit working several years ago,   so I put new lights on it.

The Sanctuary sits right next to my the studio so the cross only had to move next door......lol!

We usually have sunny blue skies here in Eastern New Mexico almost every day,   but today it is cloudy so my photo's aren't as good as they can be.    Good news is... it's still warm (70)  with a light breeze.         I couldn't have asked for a nicer day to be outside giving my cross it's new fresh look.

H made the Sanctuary years ago using old doors that we had collected over the years.    It doesn't have any insulation and it can get pretty dusty so after I finished the cross I spent the afternoon giving the inside a really good cleaning.     It does have electricity inside so I am able to have a fan or small heater if I need it.    Today,  I was very comfortable with just the doors open.

H made both of the benches that are in the Sanctuary and the end tables both came from yard sales.

The Last Supper.....probably my favorite piece.    I bought it at the auction a few years ago....it's ceramic and is way heavier than it looks!

All of the plates that I decorate with in the Prayer Room have come from yard sales.

I have a large collection of crosses and most of them have come from yard sales.   I find the best stuff at yard sales.....esp. the sales that little older ladies have!

My Sanctuary also doubles as a tea room......

The stained glass church on the left would be so much prettier if the sun was shining today....oh well....it's a wonderful day anyway!

In the before picture,   you can see the church birdhouse.....it belonged to my mother.    You will see it again later this spring in it's new home.

I loved the big church birdhouse there,   but I also love my cross there just as much!

The cross hung many years in my bedroom......

And here is is on the front porch.

I couldn't find a picture of it when it was in the studio!

Normally,   I have already made several trips to the garden center and have lots of flowers and hanging plants in this area.    I am really running behind this spring but I'll get it done pretty soon and be back with an update!

  7. With the doors open to your sanctuary, the first thing I saw was a cross in the frame, then I saw the rose covered cross, so you have 2 crosses. Beautiful!!
    Have a great weekend!
