2023 Spring Back Porch

Styling my back porch for spring involved creating a new look in the furniture arrangement and a trip to the nursery.

At the nursery,  I picked up a Boston fern for each side of the mantel and a gorgeous pot of flowers for the coffee table.

Here is a photo of last years spring back porch.....the most noticeable difference is the removal of the dining table and chairs.    We moved the table and chairs to a location that is much closer to the grill for easier serving options....  pictures will be  coming soon in an upcoming post.      I've never liked to put a table and chairs on a rug outside.....they don't seem to last very long with frequent movement of  chairs back and forth on the rug at the table.    I feel much more comfortable with just a coffee table on the rug!

Another change to the porch is the gate I am now using a fireplace screen for my faux fireplace

Does anyone else still have out Easter decor?    I have a few Easter pillows and other decor still out!

Before,   I had wicker side tables on each side of the fireplace that matched the white settee's on the porch.     I had these sweet vintage tables in another area and thought they would bring a fresh look to the porch.    A  coat of white outdoor paint and they are ready to be used outdoors.

The theme for our back porch this year is Bee kind,  gnomes,   and lemons    The sun room is decorated in a lemon theme so it was only fitting that I added a couple of lemon accessories to the back porch.   Here's a link to the sunroom post if you would like to see how it looks.....http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2023/02/relaxing-in-sunroom-on-bright-sunny.html

I haven't posted in about a month.....and am glad to be back!

  4. Glad to see you back Penny. Your porch looks lovely as always. I do not mind Easter items still being out, they always make me embrace spring, and I am never ready when summer hits me in the face with it's hot weather.

  6. Penny, I love the changes on your back patio with the wire fireplace screen/gate and the gorgeous ferns and lemony petunias (I think)!!! I finally bought some Proven Winners Vista Bubblegum petunias to try. I love how they look on other bloggers' and YouTubers' sites!! They get massive so we shall see with our shade-casting oaks surrounding our house. ;) I love too that you put out regular tables. I miss the 5 months with no rain where you could easily have regular furniture outdoors and just worry about splashes from the pool or really just dust. Texas sure has a lot more rain than Southern California!

Hope you are having a lovely springtime there in New Mexico! I imagine the weather is just about to shoot to the high 90's, though. We just hit 85 today with humidity. Back running our dehumidifier again. Oh, and I was happy to feature your post at last Wednesday's Share Your Style #387 for you!!

    Spring hugs,
    Barb :)
