I'm Making Wreaths!

Wreaths are one of my favorite things to make.  Wreaths make such a statement..over the fireplace, on the front door, the places are unlimited to use a wreath!  This is a wreath that I made from fresh flowers, dried flowers and semi dried flowers ( all from my own yard)

The roses up in the left corner are what I call semi dried, not totally dried, but not fresh!

Before I retired, this wreath was my best seller.  Lots of ruffles, lace, just beautiful. I made these in different colors and also in a heart shape.

Here is one of my heart shaped wreaths.  I used roses (made by me) vintage pins, pearls, button cards...everything romantic.

This is a spring wreath that I made to hang on the door of the potting shed.

This wreath greets you at the front door. It is hanging on an old bed spring.

All of my fall wreaths start on a grapevine form.

I added pumpkins and grapes to this one!

There are three picture windows across the front of our home.  I put a wreath on each window!

One of my heart shaped wreath on the fireplace.

I love to make Christmas wreaths.  ( I also like to decorate bottle brush tree's, you can barely see them on the side of the wreath)

I found some satin balls at a yard sale that were not in very good shape, but really cheap!  I covered them with yarn and I think they added some wonderful texture to this wreath.

I love to make these to give at Christmas.   I always give them the day after Thanksgiving so they can use them the whole season!    I buy ornaments all year long at yard sales because it takes over a 100 to make a full wreath.  You can really get ornys cheap during the summer because no one wants to store them!!!  These make a wonderful gift to donate to a nursing home, give one to a shut in that can't put up a tree,  or maybe just a friend that isn't very "crafty".

  16. Penny,
Your wreaths are stunning!! Wreaths were never the main stay of the craft that I sell but since I started decorating my department at work, I can't make them fast enough once I change everything for a different Holiday. I do wish i had more time to craft more but that will have to wait until I retire or can not work anymore....
May I ask what you did before retirement?

    Hugs,
    Deb
