A $10.00 bag of Battenburg lace is my inspiration for our bedroom redo. I bought it at a yard sale this past week end. |
There was a queen size duvet cover in the bag.... |
a pair of shams... |
a bed skirt... |
a round table cloth... |
a set of curtains..... |
and some other assorted pieces! |
Everything a girl would need to redo her bedroom! |
I painted this picture frame white and stapled fabric over the black rose picture to freshen it up... |
I added a pot of fresh boxwood to the end table...my new "go to" plant! |
and hung a cross in our bedroom. |
What a blessed lady you were to find such a treat! Looks beautiful Penny!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That's a wonderful deal! I always go to an area flea market for lace, because she has it a $1 a piece, but they certainly aren't duvet covers, curtains, etc. I wish! haha! It's beautiful!

All of that for just $10.00?!! I am going to have to start going back to garage sales around here maybe, as there are so many "Goodwill type stores" in the area, garage sales have a hard time competing. You found so much and turned it into one of the most lovely bedrooms imaginable.
ReplyDeleteYour room is so romantic! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Penny,
ReplyDeleteI also love Battenburg lace! Wow! All that for $10.00 You are an amazing treasure hunter. I love the Antique Cookie Jar on your mantle. Is it from Bavaria? The pink and green look stunning with the white lace. I can't wait to go treasure hunting again! It is amazing what you find.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Take care,

ReplyDeleteBoxwood is a great choice. I've never grown one inside, but if you give it light I bet it will do just fine. Happy Mother's Day!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I have been looking for a ruffle I have here somewhere of battenburg lace and It is driving me razy that I can't find it! SActually it was a valance on a BL shower curtain. Our son decided to see how scissors worked...so the curtain had to be replaced, but I kept that valance and the BL center of the shower curtain. I use it as a table topper now! And you were able to get so many pieces!!! you will ahve SUCH fun with those pieces! Enjoy,
LOVE your bedroom. I am planing pink geraniums tomorrow! this is a first for me! usually I plant red...
You are the Queen of pink. so romantic and feminine! Love your pinkness!

So here I am, cup in hand, craning over my desk, nose pressed against the screen taking note of all the lovely details of this room. I think it would be nice to just tumble into a room like this - a la 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'. Not so nice for you, though. You'd be over run with bloggers. We'd be like mice.
