Fall is definitely in the air and although I love summer....I am ready to embrace fall! I have been going through my fall storage totes like a kid at Christmas! I have lots of fall totes because I seldom get rid of any of my decorations....I try to buy only things that I really love!
|
I have been getting the formal dining room ready for fall.....I took everything off the wall, the buffet, and started from scratch.
I was able to buy a beautiful deer head at the auction over the summer. I have never owned a piece like this before, I hate the thought of someone killing a deer. But I was drawn to him, something in his eyes.....anyway, I decided to give him a place of honor in our home. |
|
I decided to keep the wall and buffet decor neutral, using mostly cream, tan, hints of gold, and of course my favorite color PINK. |
|
I kept with my theme and used some deer antlers in the centerpiece for the table. |
|
I used a spray of fresh roses and some mercury pumpkins in the centerpiece also. |
I kept the table cloth a simple white and used burlap for the table runner.
|
Here are some of the vignettes around the room. |

Your home is the epitome of romance! I love the antler/roses mixture on the table. Very original!

Penny,
ReplyDeleteI love how your DR looks for Fall!! LOVE those lamps!! and those drapes...I don't think that I saw those before!! Everything looks as beautiful as always!! How are you making out with watching your grand daughter? Is your daughter going to be a Life Flight Nurse ( Helicopter)?
I started packing up the LR and painting. The ceiling is going to kill me as it is textured and absorbing more paint then I thought it would....
It is killing me that I can't decorate for Fall....
Hugs,
Deb

Hi Penny,
ReplyDeleteYour use of all the different elements in decorating for Autumn is quite unique and interesting. The deer head reminds me of the two my grandfather had up in their dining room. He killed them himself. Being such a nature lover it really bothered me as a little girl to see them. Love the mercury pumpkins and burlap with the lace. Thank you for sharing at my HOME and Happy September!
Blessings,
Sandi
The deer head and other deer and antlers are certainly a fall theme. I like your dining table setting with the burlap runner, antlers, pink roses and pumpkins. An interesting and fun combination. Happy September to you! Pamela
ReplyDeleteSuch great ideas, Penny! I have been wondering what to do with a big deer head that my son moved off and left at my house. Your beautiful dining room gives me an idea to take the picture down over the fireplace and embrace the abandoned deer head for Fall. Thanks for sharing all those beautiful ideas with us. I saw your post over at StoneGable blog.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Penny! Your dining room is ready for fall.

Your home looks very romantic. LOVELY photos. I had to look at them twice.
I, too decorate for the holidays on the romantic side. I like a soft romantic palette
I get more traditional outdoors but keep it soft and romantic on the inside.
I am now following and hope you will follow me back. Don't want to miss a thing.
