I did a fall tablescape in the kitchen today. I had some "new" yard sale dishes and had "romanced" a few pumpkins yesterday, so I decided to use them in the tablescape. |
I have the table set for H and I to have lunch tomorro...We are just having soup and a half sandwich, but it will seem special with a beautifully set table. |
The napkins are light beige with an embroidered design in the corner. |
Keeping with the rose theme, I selected some rose salt and pepper shakers for my tablescape. And, I just happened to have a rose print pumpkin that matched perfectly. |
The grocery store had their fresh roses for $6.99 a dozen today, so I picked out some pretty pink ones for a bouquet. |
I bought these dishes at a yard sale last Saturday ...I got 4 dinner plates, 2 dessert plates, and 5 salad bowls for $3!!! |
They are made by Home Beautiful and the pattern is Rose Blush... |
I hope you can see the beautiful raised roses on these dishes... |
I have a different table in the kitchen.... |
I had been using a tea cart with the sides up on it to make a cozy table for two.... |

I rarely answer a painting question, but I see green on the cabinet....I would paint the bench a green and then change the fabric....it would stand out against the white....you asked....so there is my 2 cents worth!
ReplyDeleteI think it would look better painted, too, Penny. I usually paint furniture white but I do like Ceekay's idea, too. It will be lovely no matter what you decide. Love the new dishes! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI adore your chocolate pot! By now I figure you already have the bench painted since you fly so fast! You know what you're doing and we love it!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful setting, love the pretty rose dishes and fabric pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are so beautiful. Anyone would love to sit at that cozy table for two!

ReplyDeletePenny,it's all so pretty, and what a bargain price. I think the piano stool would look lovely white with a new cover too. :)
ReplyDeleteYour table setting is all so pretty!! The chocolate pot is a beauty! I love both your chairs, the cane is fabulous!! I think the bench would be darling in white too:-)

So enjoy your blog. Keep the piano bench matching the piano, unless this is an extra bench, then paint it a soft green (to the blue side) like Ceekay suggested. But keep the cabinet white. I rather like to needlepoint fabric that's on the bench. It look old fashion and romantic. The contract in color will add interest to any room the bench is in.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful...I love it all. Those dishes were a great buy and how pretty they are!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and feminine--would never make it here with my 2 men (and 3 big dogs). But I can look and dream......

Always a delight to visit your lovely home Penny.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful table. I bet your heart was singing when you spotted those lovely dishes...as to your bench. If it is going to stay there, I would paint it and I like the idea of a touch of soft green and then some gorgeous fabric for the top....

What a sweet tea you have set for us! Everything is just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe garage sale dishes you picked up are pretty, no wonder you went with a rose theme to match them.
ReplyDeleteI see you have a couple of tall glass containers with a silver top and handle. I inherited one of these, keep polishing the silver part but don't know what it's for.

Dear Penny, What a beautiful blog you have...so happy to have found it.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is absolutely beautiful...I love the rose theme..and I really love those salt and pepper shakers. I've been meaning to go to some yard sales myself..those are always the perfect spots to find antique and vintage pieces, which I love very much.
I think the piano bench would look beautiful painting white...I like the seat cover, but I'm sure it will look beautiful no matter what.
I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog and I hope you stop by and enter. Today's the last day. Many blessings, your new follower and friend, Catherine xo

HI Penny,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your pumpkin! It is perfect with your decor. I think you should paint the bench white and see if you like the cover better and then decide if you want to change it.
