Thrifty Decorating

H and I spent the day at the auction Saturday...what fun!   We enjoyed visiting with friends and seeing all the unique antiques that were for sale.   Of course, we bought a few things!   The first thing that I wanted to show you is this old seeder.  I tried to get H to model how it works for!
The strap on the right side of the seeder goes around your neck and the seeder lays on your chest.   As you walk, you crank the seeds out and the little propeller on the front sprinkles them around on the ground....clear as mud, right?

Some would see it as a seeder, but I thought it would look cute as a flower pot.   I put a glass bowl in the burlap seed holder and filled it with fresh pink roses.

I love the way it looks!

The second thing I wanted you to see, is my "new" coffee table.   I bought it at a yard sale last Saturday for $7.  It is not real marble, I think  it is formica or some other kind of faux marble.

H put our round pink marble coffee table in storage for a while....we will enjoy a little change!

When we put in the new coffee table, I decided to move the two guest chairs (on the left)  in closer to the fireplace for a more cozy feel.

Before, the path to the sun room was in front of the two guest chairs.  Now, it is behind them.   I call them guest chairs because H and I always sit in our recliners!
So, for $17 and moving furniture around a little, I gave the room a fresh look for fall!

  8. Penny,
You are so imaginative! I never would have first known what that seeder was nor how to use it as a decorative item!! Love your new coffee table and how you were able to arrange the room. I have been trying to re- arrange my LR but with only 2 walls so to speak, it is very hard.... I have finished the painting and I am still packing but I am exhausted...... The flooring comes on Friday so it will sit in the house for a bit to get used to the atmosphere.
