Thanksgiving Buffet

Thanksgiving Buffet or Sideboard?   I don't know why I never questioned what to call this piece of furniture before......but I did today!   I Googled it and here is what I found.....a sideboard utilized in the dining room is called a buffet....a buffet placed in the living room is called a sideboard.

Soooo....since I will be serving food here Thanksgiving and it is located in the dining room, I will call it a buffet.

I have used these same carved wooden Pilgrims and Indians for many Thanksgivings.  Some holiday decor comes and goes, but these are here to stay!
I know you were expecting to see pink Pilgrims....
and pink Indians....

but not this time!
I like to add a little sparkle to my Thanksgiving decor, so I put a "holiday" tree on each side of the buffet.   That's right...a holiday tree, Thanksmas tree, or fall tree,,,,what ever you want to call it!  But, it's too early to call it a Christmas tree, right?

It will be so easy to decorate these trees for Christmas ...the day after Thanksgiving!

Here is my Fall tree last year.....

and here is the link to that post

I decorated under the trees with deer and antlers.....

I bought this deer "candle holder" at the auction a few weeks ago...I think it was $10 but I can't find the ticket and I don't remember for sure.

I have a sweet Home Interior deer family under the tree on the other side of the buffet.

This is my buffet last Thanksgiving  (

The ceramic pie covers are now.......

being used for burner covers!

Here is the link for that post if you would like to see more of the kitchen..
I still have lots to do to get ready for the big Thanksgiving dinner......I have to decorate the fireplace, get the table set, plan the menu....the list goes on and on!   But I love every minute of it...don't you!

  1. Very Pretty, Penny! I wish I had room for trees like those in the house but no such luck.
