Heart Rose Wreath

We are slowly but surely getting the mini make over done in the kitchen.

I took down the two cupcake pictures that were on the wall and hung a heart rose wreath in their place.  Below the wreath, I have a vintage mail box filled with dried roses.
I've had this wreath at least 10 years and you have seen it many times...hope you aren't tired of it!  I changed it a little by adding a new bow.....you can find the beautiful cloth ribbon that I used for the bow at Hobby Lobby.  I also added a cute bird....
We brought in some metal chairs that were out in the back yard last summer....I thought they would give the kitchen more of a rose garden feel!   We also replaced the square table with a smaller round table.

On the left is the table that we took out....on the right, is a tea cart that I used for a table in the past.
I wrote "Rose Garden" on my chalkboard....
I added these cute birds to an  existing arrangement that I brought in from the sun room.   I found these birds in the Christmas ornament section at Hobby Lobby a few days ago....80% off!    They have kind of a french script on their tail and I loved the fabric on their bodies!

This little table makes a wonderful place to sit and have a cup of tea....

The little "table" under the heart wreath is actually a drawer that I bought at the auction.  I bought four of these drawers and put them together to make a coffee table in the family room.....you can see my "drawer coffee table" in some of the family room 2013 Christmas pictures.

The drawers all have hand painted flowers on them.   I have used three of the drawers in the kitchen...you saw one earlier on the counter by the kitchen....now this one....and the other one will be in the next update post.

I put this vintage poodle on the top of the drawer and put a small etagere inside the drawer with some tea cups on it.
You can see the other drawer on the right side of  the sink in this photo.

I still have the counter by the stove to make over and a little rolling cart by the refrigerator...and I will be done with the kitchen!  Be back soon with the final reveal!

  1. Oh Penny, this post is making me long for Spring! Your kitchen is a pretty rose garden indeed. We all need a little change after the New Year. Love the birds! I often pick up after Christmas items for Valentines. I just bought a little pink glitter angel that I will use in a Valentines vignette.
    hugs,
    Jann

  2. You're all ready for the next holiday! Pink roses are my favorite. I have a dried bunch and a silk bunch in my pink room as you can probably see from my header.

    Happy New Year,

  3. Your kitchen is beautiful! I've not see the wreath before, it's very pretty. I have dried many roses over the years......also love the small white kitchen table. Wish it were as spring-like in the Midwest! Over a foot of snow and severe sub-zero temps here in IL. Starting to pine for spring and it's only January! Kathleen
