I am starting 2014 with a new theme in the kitchen. I have had a cupcake theme for quite a while and it is time for a change. |
I am going to try to capture the feeling of a romantic rose garden in the kitchen. |
I even brought in some outdoor furniture...more on that later! Well, maybe just a peek...notice the white wicker chair? |
I made a "valance" of dried roses to put over the kitchen window..... |
I put big lace bows along the top of the rose valance.... |
Long lace streamers fill in the spaces between the bundles of dried roses. |
The photo on the left is the "before" cupcake theme and window treatment..... On the right is this years Christmas vignette. |
Very pretty! Wish we had your weather here in Kansas!
ReplyDeleteOh! My!Gosh! Hi Penny! What a fabulous kitchen. I LOVE it! I hope you will consider sharing your post for Fresh-Cut Friday. It would be a perfect addition. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year my Friend!

I do the same thing with my kitchen window valance. I swith off with 2 different lace valances and add up a different second valance as the season or holiday chnages. Even old vintage hankerchiefs draped over the rod. Keeps the look fresh. But Halloween is the best! Black lace & glow in the dark fabric!!
ReplyDeleteWaiting for the wicker chairs...
Волшебно красиво!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful theme! Love all the roses, it must smell wonderful there! Thanks for joining TTF!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny - love how your house feels so famine. I'm green with envy. Thanks for sharing and coming to my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful , Penny!! Love the "valance". I also am looking at how nice it looks outside through your window. We just had about 6 inches of snow over night and the temp. this morning was 3!!!!! Joe is not having a good day delivering the mail today to say the least since the predicted high is 10!!!!! Every time our snow melts, we get another storm!
ReplyDeleteYour Kitchen looks stunning!!
I love that self with the drawers on your counter!
Hugs,
Debbie
simply lovely your totally capturing rose garden feel looks like there growing out of your cabinets love it
ReplyDeleteYou are so inspiring! My colors are a deep rose red and pinks. Greens from pale new leaf green to deep emerald green. Usually moss and leaf green are my choices to go with my reds and pinks. Your colors and the way you put vignettes together, is so imaginative. Getting more and more hooked on your blog and I can't wait to see what you do next. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeletePenny I adore your kitchen. So darling. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful inspiration. I have just joined your blog. My name is Echo :)

I just posted and got "error" so I'll try again: How simply charming, and sweet and such a fulfillment of my own DreamKitchen. (though I don't know quite how I'd work this immense old black Franklin stove into the storybook).
ReplyDeleteIt must be just lovely to wake to such a place for coffee, to make breakfast, and even washing dishes at that exquisite window would be a nice thing, I think, for I lose myself in the suds and dream dreams of magic.
Thank you for these glimpses of such a charming, welcoming, reverie sort of place---it's been a lovely treat to visit.

ReplyDeleteLooking good, it's too pretty to cook in and mess it up, guess you'll have to eat out, lol. I love white wicker in the kitchen, so charming. Take care - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
ReplyDeleteLooks so creative and beautiful. Love the rosebud cabinet pulls! Putting away Christmas is not my favorite thing to do, but I'm glad you could enjoy it. Doesn't it feel good to make changes and super clean things? !
