I have been keeping an eye out at the auction and estate sales for a piece that could be repurposed as a faux fireplace for the front porch.....and Saturday was my lucky day! |
H gave her a fresh coat of paint and I think she's beautiful! |
Here is a before and after of the back side of the new faux fireplace. |
There is a vintage iron glider on each side of the fireplace .....can you see our little trailer in the background of this photo? |
I decorated the top of the fireplace with some mantle clocks that I also got at the auction Saturday.... |
I have some comfy pillows on the gliders....$3 for the 2 pillows and both shams at a yard sale. |
I thought the "fireplace " looked too flat on the top, so I had H screw the mirror that came with it to the back and the clocks to the top. I like the way the fountain reflects in the mirror. |
Amazing idea, and you got it done already! Love your glider, keep hoping to find one. Your outdoor space is beautiful

ReplyDeleteSimply amazing - you can make a silk purse our of a cows ear!!! Can you tell I'm from the Midwest?? The only thing I would worry about is reflection from the mirror causing a fire - I'm just being paranoid I know! I all look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIT all looks wonderful! Mind is faster or maybe slower than my typing!

Hi Penny! I kept hoping you would take a photo of the view of the front of the house so we could see how you had positioned your faux fireplace. You certainly "stole" that piece. I have only been to one auction...and only for a few moments..but wasn't there to bid. I really would like to experience one some day. You really get wonderful prices on the things you want. :) Good job Penny. I am getting braver and braver the way I do some things thanks to you. It's fun!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mona

I love your imagination and decorating skills. The only question I have is do you have to bring everything in when it rains? Though it looks like a fantasy. Simply beautiful and pink is my favorite! Blessings, Catherine
ReplyDeleteYou have such an eye for treasures! I truly admire your vision...to see beauty in what others would consider "kindling". Thanks for linking up to my Creative Ways Link Party!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Another place to be cozy...
Thanks for sharing.
Penny!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, my friend, that you are killing me with all these fireplaces!! I can not beleive that someone considered this kindling!! For heaven's sake!! Great job!
Now didn't you have one out there last year or was that in the back.
I know i may have asked you this before but do you get much rain? I could never leave the linens and everything that you have outside because I would spend more time bringing them into the house. We have had rain every day here for the past week or so!! It has been pouring for an hour now. Different parts of Pa, had baseball ( yep, baseball) size hail yesterday! It damaged 2 Medical Helicopters owned by the Health care system that I work for!!
I planted my annuals in the front right before the rain started so that put the brakes on me taking my pictures today!!
Hugs,
Deb
