June is still the most popular month to marry...followed by August and July. |
Juno is the Roman goddess of marriage, therefore it has always been believed that a June marriage would bring prosperity and happiness to the couple. |
In early US history, Wednesday was the luckiest day of the week for a wedding.....Friday the most unlucky (Friday was know as the hang mans day....lol) |
SOOOO, is the month or day of the week the secret to a happy marriage? Probably not...... Want a happy and long marriage???..... |
Give more than you think you are receiving... |
and you will receive more than you give. |
Want a "til death do us part" marriage??? |
Show Compassion......Be considerate.... |
Cooperation is key to a happy marriage.... |
Compromise..... |
Communication....so important! |
and finally..... |
Listen..... |

So much to look at! Love the cakes and the milk glass. Love the crystal chandelier and the teacups. Most of all love the good humor which is also essential to all great relationships... :-)

I am with you on every single one of those ways to have a happy marriage. I have never been divorced and neither have any of my three husbands. Of course two of them passed away...:( I hope that isn't a bad sign...you don't suppose..do you?
ReplyDeleteI must go somewhere quiet and reflect!
:)

Great advice. Mine is keep doing daily kindness for each other. It's the small things that matter, not the jewlery or big anniversary trips.
ReplyDeleteAll so true, thanks for reminding me! Just love the deer head, it's darling with the veil!

Penny,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful even the deer!! Good advice. My MIL and FIL and several of Joe's other aunts and uncles were married on Thanksgiving Days. Even though his home town is only 45 minutes from mine, we had never heard of that!! Or knew of anyone else getting married on Thanksgiving Days. Don't know if you got my email but the umbrella is actually a 420 beach umbrella!!
Hugs,
Deb
Okay, that was supposed to be $20 beach umbrella!!

Love your words of wisdom, soooo right. Really it's just about being nice to one another!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretties!! Love the deer, those are great!!! :) Happy weekend! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteSpent some time gazing at the deer with the veil; just wow. Interesting that Friday used to be a bad luck day.
ReplyDeleteI got married on a Wednesday in June two years ago! I hope that's a good thing!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos!
What a great post. I got married on a Wednesday in December 53 years ago so ......
ReplyDeleteWords of wisdom...... for sure!
ReplyDeleteI've been happily married for many years.... going on forever. Our secret is "laughter". My hubby has the best since of humor and keeps me in stitches.
How creative! Love the deer!
I have never seen a bride and groom deer couple before. You are so creative.

So darling, Penny!

I love how you dressed up those deer so much! That is the cutest thing ever!!
ReplyDeleteI think you have great advice. Although, I think "happy" isn't enough for a solid marriage. The moment we're not happy, we are led to think there is something wrong with the marriage or the other person. Marriage is also about the unhappy moments. What do you suggest we do when things are unhappy in marriage? That could be another post connected to this one. Blessings to you~ =)
ReplyDeleteI am telling you that I enjoyed this post so much and have loved looking at all the wonderful and beautiful pictures. I must admit, being a deer huntress, those deer caught my eye! But I just love it all. And yes, I am learning daily what it takes to have a happy marriage....nearly 37 years later and I am still learning! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteGreat tips, Penny! Thank you for linking up with us at Thursday S.T.Y.L.E.!
ReplyDeleteSweet write-up :)
