Dollar Tree Decorating

I have set up a card table for H and I to enjoy our breakfast outside this morning.  I like to use card tables to eat on in the yard....easy to set up and take down.....and you can enjoy a meal anywhere in the yard.

I had to go to Dollar Tree yesterday to pick up some brown paper bags for Kyleigh's lunch.   They are going on a field trip today and needed their lunch packed in a throw away bag.   Anyway,  of course I had to look around the store a little......

I found all these lavender goodies and thought what a pretty tablescape they would make.   Kitchen towels, paper plates and napkins, and some sweet lidded boxes.

First I cut a hold in the box to make it look like a bird house,   then I hot glued some pretty lavender lace around the opening.      I hot glued my birdhouses to some glass pedestals and added a matching lace bow.

Cute centerpiece for not much money,  as the pedestals were yard sale purchases.

I set our breakfast table with the pretty paper plates....

and paper napkins.

I used two of the dish towels for place mats

I layered a sheet,  a yard of fabric,  and a lavender striped  curtain...all from yard sales.
I cut my first two roses from the garden this morning .....

As soon as I get my pictures finished,  I will rush these roses into the house and put them in water.   I will be able to enjoy them for several days.   All the other bushes are loaded with buds,  so I am looking forward to some big bouquets!

This is the north side of the studio,   Last year we added a faux door and window to give this side of the studio a  little "curb appeal"  lol!

  1. The sweetest setting Penny, a perfect spot for morning coffee! I'll be right over! Lavender is one of my favorite colors, and there's not a lick of it in my home. Hmm

  2. Penny,
I have been staying away from stores for the past few months since I have been cleaning out and donating tons of stuff. BUT I think I may have to check out the Dollar Tree. I LOVE all the Dollar Tree Goodies that you bought and I LOVE how you made birdhouses out of those cute boxes.
I love the lavender color!! Did I ever mention that when I was a teenager and lived at home that my bedroom was painted lavender and that it was my most favorite color????? I had considered painting the guest room lavender but then went with yellow.
    Hugs,
    Debbie

  18. How VERY charming, as usual, Penny! The lavenders and purples are such a note of Spring.

The men are in my kitchen this minute, and all the top cabinets are gone. It's a sad transition, a bit, for I've loved this little place, but the new cabinets will be in soon, and the countertops and the wall of PINK. My painter is matching a Sweet&Low packet for the paint. Scrumptious.
