Repurposing a Wingback Chair

My daughter had a yard sale a couple of weeks ago,  and my grandson put two wingback chairs in it.   I thought they had good bones and might be a fun repurposing project.  so I bought them from him.  ($10 each).

The chairs had originally belonged to my daughter,  and she had given them to him a couple of years ago.  After being in his "frat" house for a while,  they were in pretty bad condition....lol!

The first thing we did was rip all the fabric and padding off.   That was no easy task...lol!   I had no idea it would take so long.....so many staples......
It got a fresh coat of paint...notice I said"it"...we have only got one done so far.   Again...I say...it is a lot of work to strip all the fabric off!

I stapled some pretty fabric to the back......sat a cute owl in a carpenter box,  and added some faux flowers  (for now).

The springs were pretty plain so I added another layer of springs......
The springs I added were a yard sale purchase.....   .50 cents

This is not her permanent home....can't wait to show you where she is going,.....

  2. Penny,
Now I know what a wing back chair looks like without the fabric on it!! We;;, I'll be darned!! Love what you did with it!! So cute!! I have been working in the yard, planting annuals ( I broke down and bought them) and getting both the front porch and back patio ready for the season! It has been unseasonably hot here..... in the high 80's!! But it is supposed to cool off on the next few days but hopefully, not too cold so there is frost.....

    Hugs,
    Deb
