Fall Container Gardening

I did a little fall decorating on the front porch today.

We don't have pumpkins for sale yet in our area,  but the nurseries are full of gorgeous fall mums.

I had fun over the summer finding unique containers for my plants,  and I wanted to do the same thing for fall.

I decided to plant a small mum in a vintage suitcase.    H used a jigsaw to cut a round hole in the top of  a small suitcase.    I cut out the silk  pocket to use in another project,  put a plate on the bottom to catch any water run off.. and "planted" my mum

I made a rag garland to tie around this large mum plant to dress up  the plastic store container.

I made a simple wreath from cotton bolls,    hung it on deer antlers    and framed them with a plain grapevine wreath.

I put one of my mums in a concrete planter.

I have used a stack of wooden milk crates as a planter for my sweet potato vine.

My sweet potato vine has the prettiest blooms starting to appear.....they look like small morning glories.

 Happy fall decorating!
