Shabby Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree in the family room this year is so different from any tree we've ever had.......it's a very simple shabby Christmas tree....
I have tucked candelabras in between the branches........hung the shabby stars that I made.......draped pearls......
The tree topper is one of my handmade shabby stars too.....

I have hung small pieces of rusty wrought iron and laid dozens of roses on the boughs....

The Christmas theme for the family room this year is all about the birth.,   so there are small nativities in the tree.

Has my tree grown wooden  "legs"?
I love the illusion of legs that these pieces  gave the tree......
Have you ever thought of using a wall shelf as one of the decorations for your tree....why not!
 ......pretty pieces of crochet.......

Roses.....

chandys......

I normally spend hours hanging pretty ornaments on the tree....but this year it's just a simple shabby Christmas tree.

  1. Hee, Hee...wheres the farmhouse sink....love that creativity there...and why not---gorgeous tree to begin with...was it flocked or did you do it, I'm loving the look. No room in the bedroom this year...too many plants hogging the open space. Thanks for sharing and it is luscious! Sandi

  3. Made my jaw drop! You are the Shabby Chic Queen! This reminded me of a tree I saw at a decorator shop that had white child's chairs wedged in it with Christmas scenes on the seats. Christmas trees now have no rules! Penny I think you've made your own rule book!

  12. Penny,
OMG!!!! Leave it to you to place a candlabra in a Tree!!! LOVE it!! Amazing creativity!! I have to ask you about the flocked tree....I ahve been admiring them for some years now and I am wondering if that flocking sheds and falls off all over the floor? Just curious.....
