I didn't take down the Christmas tree in the formal living/dining room because I wanted to decorate it for Valentines day....Easter....maybe I'll just leave it up year round! |
On the left is the Christmas tree.............on the right is the Valentine tree You can see I added quite a few more flowers to the tree for Valentines Day! |
Before .............................................After |
If you look really close, you will see silver tea pots and china tea cups in my Valentine tree. |
I had a little help decorating the tree..... |
I didn't do a Valentine mantel this year...... |
I put a glass block light, a couple of pictures, a Victorian baby and a small china dish to create a simple mantel. I want something easy to take down because I plan to do an elaborate Easter mantel. |
I had my vintage gloves tied together to make a Christmas garland, but I took them loose and just pinned them to a rose garland. |
You are always such an inspiration to me. I think this is a good day to do a small Valentine' tree I have been planning in my head as it is so rainy here in Fla. I have a lanyard with gems that broke... it will be cute to add to the clothespins like you have used for hanging things. Now to choose which tree to use... I buy the small ones when I find them at sales.
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: lovely proposals.Very inspiring. Keep in touch

Penny, Little white gloves make me want to cry...I miss my guardian angel who always took me to church and I wore those gloves. I love your pink chairs. !!! Your tree is a beauty. So clever of you. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous tree - and why not leave it up year round!
ReplyDeleteI remember dressing for church each Sunday as a child with my gloves and fancy socks. I wonder what my sister did with my mother's wonderful collection of white gloves?
Thanks for Sharing Your Cup!
I think I could live with the pretty pink tree all year. I don't remember seeing the two dark pieces of furniture you have in your living room now. Were they there christmas. When you use some dark pieces it gives me ideals what it would look like in my home. Your blogs is the 1st. one I want to see every day. I love how you use the silver tea set & the painted silver set. I have another question to ask you. Did you change your home out as much when you were working as you do now. I would have love to seen your office how you had it all pretty up (lol) Thank You sweet lady for showing us a lot of pretty things.
ReplyDeleteHi Lou, The two china cabinets have been there for years...lol! I am storing the bigger one for our daughter....it's been here about 5 years and she still doesn't have room for it! The curved one belonged to my mother and it's been in that corner about 9 years now. I think I need to move those around don't you? No, I didn't have time to do all this when I was working....I retired in July of 2005. My office was decorated more than anyone else in the courthouse! I retired from the State of New Mexico....Budget and Finance dept. It was my job to advise the elected officials what they could spend their money on and help them plan their yearly budgets. hugs...
DeleteLove as always.
ReplyDeleteYou always inspire me a lot. I love all these pinks. The tree is fabulous
