I am drawn to dishes and linens.....I love them! My grandma was a linen lover, so it's in my blood.....lol! My mother was all about dishes.....so I got that part of my dish addiction from her. |
This red transfer ware bowl was $1......it's marked Penshur St Place/Wedgewood/Romantic England |
I wish I could pass up teapots.....I'm getting too many! |
$4 for this Fenton Spanish Lace dinner bell..... |
I don't usually buy jewelry at yard sales, but I thought this necklace and pin would be perfect for a craft project that I am planning. $4 for both. |
A single Battenburg lace pillow sham and two lace window panels that don't match. The seller let me have them for $1 each because there wasn't a mate for any of the three. |

Some lovely finds, and you'll certainly know the best, prettiest thing to do with each and every one. Even with the broken silver, I can see our kinship of the find---we don't go shopping for a candlestick; we find a candlestick, glass, fan, book, globe, etc., and think: WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see---I have one of those old silver hotel-pots with the slim curved spout, from which are suspended pounded-flat knives, forks and spoons. It was a gift, but why didn't I think of that.
Now, about the two sets of white sheers and a small cornice that Chris just brought home from a yard sale down the street . . .

WOW!! You found some great treasures. John and I lived in Borger, Texas for a year and made numerous trips to Amarillo.

Penny,
ReplyDeleteYou found some beautiful things....love the dishes of course!! I have been staying away from yard sales as I have been getting rid of more things in the house. But I will be going to our church Flea Market next weekend and I am sure I will come away with some treasures...
Hugs,
Deb
Great finds Penny. You have great vision for products and projects. Thanks for sharing them at DI&DI.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get out and do some searching for goodies. A bad fall has left me injured and in such pain. Can hardly move. Waiting for total knee replacement surgery on July 7. Would rather be enjoying life.
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds, I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE your kitchen, smiles
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is lovely, and your found some great treasures!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny. I, too, love dishes and linens. I believe I inherited this from my mother especially my love for vintage linens. My love for dishes...I am not sure.
ReplyDeleteI love when there is an email from you because the pictures from your home are so inspiring to me. I have just moved and many of my dishes and linens had been stored in boxes for for three years. What joy I am having reuniting with these special things that I have inherited and collected over the years. I get many ideas from just looking at your pictures. Thanks so much.
Love the teapot, Penny! Such great finds :)

I am always happy to see china, especially red transferware! Your linens are gorgeous too and a cute dinner bell. You always manage to find some wonderful treasures, Penny. Thanks for sharing and Happy first day of Summer!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Some of the silver pieces would be great put together to hold birds nest. For example, the 4 pieces in the center... glue each of the bottom two pieces with the "cup" facing up onto the two taller pieces behind them and put the nests into the "cup".
