I decided while I was setting the table that it was time give the mantle a fresh look. I rotate the baskets on the porch every few days to give them different degrees of sun light so it was easy to change the mantle just by exchanging the petunia basket for a Boston fern basket. |

The ceramic squirrels that were on the mantle moved to another place on the porch and I replaced them with these pretty trophy cups that I recently purchased at HL in the 80% off isle. |

The centerpiece for the dining table is simple and easy........ aqua hob nail pitcher, roses, silver tray, sugar and creamer and a pink an white crocheted piece. |

I couldn't decide whether to use the sugar and creamer or these two pieces. The framed fabric you have seen in my vignettes before, but the white wire tea pot is a new yard sale purchase....$1. |

I wanted to share my cord cover secret with you. See the pink umbrella in the background? Well, I covered a not so pretty umbrella with pink sheets to give it a shabby look. But before I sewed my sheets together. I cut the header off of each one and used them to cover my cord. I don't sew them together as I feel it's unnecessary when they are gathered on the cord. |

In the before photo on the left , you can see the ugly brown and I might add.....expensive..... cover that I bought a long time ago before I started using sheet headers. In the after photo on the right, you can see how pretty and full my new "nearly free" cover looks. |

ReplyDeleteWhat fun to dine outside! It's almost always too windy to do that here. This spot where we live has got to be one of the windiest spots on the Island. I would love a screened in porch that would cut down considerably the wind that we get here on an almost daily basis. I love your center piece of roses and using the pretty china makes the meal so special. Thanks for sharing.
