Here is my bed tray used in the traditional way......handled tray on top.....magazines in the holders.....but I changed it a little bit by adding a big bird nest where your legs would normally be. |
Next I stood it on it's side..... |
I guess one more way would be to turn it upside down....wonder how that would look? |
You will see different furniture arrangements as I show you the Breakfast in bed tray. Here the lounge is in front of the fireplace, but that's not where it found a home..... |
Here is how I designed the tray with the handled part removed..... |
In upcoming photo's, you will see how I flipped the table to the other end of the love seat and completely changed the grouping in the corner of the room..... |
At one time, I had my sheep pillow on the table in front of the tray and another smaller table in the grouping with my Jackalopes on it. |
I am often asked how I keep all this stuff dusted.... it is usually moved around often enough that there's no time for dust to settle...lol! |
Things finally found homes....at least for a while.....so, I'll give you a quick tour of the family room |
The snow ball bushes are all budded out, but the flowers are still green. I went on ahead and cut some for the bouquet on the coffee table. The blooms reminded me of Pantones 2017 color Greenery. |
I like the chaise lounge on the end of the love seat much better than in front of the fireplace, so it will stay there....for now! |
I moved the small piano chair to the side of the fireplace ....it was in the corner by the piano before. |
Look at the third photo down from the top and you will see that I changed out the pillows and added a plaid throw to the chaise lounge. That is how I plan to leave it....period..... for now..... |
You have a lot of energy to be moving things about so much. Wish I had a fraction of that energy. Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteThe bed tray is a fun piece with which to play. I never have thought out of the box using a bed tray. You've given me some ideas.
Penny,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful!!! I call it the "Might as Wee" effect or the "Snowball" effect!! LOL!!! Like a snowball rolling down the hill, the project keeps getting bigger and bigger...
Hugs,
Debbie
Love that you look at things from a different perspective. You can totally change the look and purpose of an item. I would have never thought of turning the bed tray on it's side but it totally works. Very inventive.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice when you find a versatile piece? My mom had a habit of rearranging things at night after we went to bed, and we'd wake up to different decorations/furniture arrangements and whatnot. This reminds me of her, and her habit of switching things up! Thanks for sharing at My Busy Beehives #beeparty!
ReplyDeleteEverything is very elegant and romantic

ReplyDeleteHi Penny. This room is so feminine and romantic. How do you find the energy lady, moving furniture is hard work. As always there are so many pretty things to admire. Would love to hear the story about the white floor clock. Its especially nice.
ReplyDeleteI Love that you used the bed tray in non traditional ways. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us at Vintage Charm.
