My Vintage Laundry Room

Welcome to my laundry room!

I've made a window treatment from vintage pillow cases.

This one is my favorite sets of pillow cases, my mother got them for me on one of her many antiquing trips!

The big white tub was bought for me by my granny when I was born.  We lived right next to her on the farm when I was a little girl.  She bought this for my mother to bathe me in...one of my most treasured items!!

There is a large desk in the laundry room for folding clothes!  I also do my hair and make up here so it is kind of like a third bathroom!

This little pin cushion is also one of my most valuable treasures!  It was given to my grandmother by her grandmother! And then it was given to me!

My grandmother wrote this on the back...1929 From Grandma Trapp.  The thimble also belonged to my grandma Trapp!

If you need to iron something in the laundry room, I have lots of old irons. My mother collected them and I have bought a few!

There is lots of storage in the laundry room.  I's on my todo list for this winter to get all the cabinets painted white!!

I store all kinds of stuff in there!

These are the cabinets on the opposite wall..You can see that getting them all painted white is a really BIG job!

I have a collection of figurines stored in part of the cabinets.

And a couple of shelves of candles!

If you go to the backyard, there is a vintage machine and a clothes line.....think I'll use the modern ones today!!

And here is another on that is on the front porch!  I hope you have enjoyed seeing my laundry room. I would love for you to leave me a comment!!

  16. you are so fortunate to have those precious family items passed down to you! I love antiquing and wish my mother had kept things to pass down, but she is just the opposite, she is a minimalist to the extreme, ha. ha. Anyway, your laundry room is adorable, should be featured in a decorating or antique living magazine - it has such a pleasing look. Hope you have a fun Pink Saturday!

  21. Penny,
What a delightful laundry room you have.
You always have such pretty things to share with us!
My washer and dryer is in a closet in my Powder Room so I do not have a laundry so to speak.
My mother still had a wringer washer when I graduated high school in '75!! They were still selling them at Sears and she kept buying wringer ones until my sister and I finally bought her a modern washer...
    LOL!!

    Hugs,
    Debbie

  28. Very cute. My grandmother had an old wringer washer on her porch. I used to love to play there on wash days. She put blueing in the rinse water, and I would play in the water while I was supposed to be helping her. Great memories. I wish I had that old washer.
