High Tea Christmas Tree

The 2015 theme for the formal living/dining room is "A High Tea Christmas".     I shared the high tea mantle in an earlier post and  I hope to get pictures of the table and mantel to share later.    I finished decorating for Christmas last week,  but I haven't had a chance to photograph everything yet.

The High Tea Christmas Tree is decorated with silver,  china,  pink Santa's,  flowers,  and the kitchen sink.....lol!

This tree was so much fun to decorate.    After Christmas,   I plan to pack away the Santa's but I am going to leave the tree up for a while as a winter tree.   Who am I kidding....I may leave it up all year....lol!

We woke up to our first snow of the season.
It was 60 here yesterday and it's supposed to be warm the rest of the week,  so we better enjoy the snow today.    It's not very cold outside and the snow is melting almost as soon as it hits the concrete.   We were expecting rain today so we had moved the fabric furniture under the porch and put up all the blankets.    Well,  except for the one that Punkie sleeps on.   He's all curled up in his chair....didn't even wake up for the photo.

Merry Christmas !!

  11. You have a lovely blog, my dear. The former teacher in me needs to point out a couple of things to you though. The piece above the fireplace is spelled "mantel." Secondly, "high tea" was served to the grimy miners who came out of the mines at night and were hungry for a substantial meal and they ate standing at high tables. Afternoon tea would be the correct term for your gorgeous tree. Also be careful of your use of apostrophes. They should only be used to show possession, not plurals. I hope I have not offended you, but if I have just remove this comment. Blessings

  12. Penny,
LOVE your Tree!! And apparently the person who commented above me never heard of the Royals havinh High Tea or High Tea being served in all the well established Tea Rooms through out the world. Not did she ever hear the saying "If you can't say something nice, then do not say it at all".
And I LOVE your " MANTLE"!!! LOL!!

    Hugs,
    Deb
