Pink Joins Red, White, & Blue Patriotic Decor

Can pink live happily with Red,  White,  and Blue decor or will the colors fight each other?    I think they can "marry" IF you choose the right shades of color on both sides!

Patriotic Porch

Our front porch is about a 30 feet long by 15 feet wide so it has plenty of little "destinations" for everyone to sit when we have a get together.    We  have quite a crowd when we just have  family over for a week end BBQ .....about 14 plus.   We need even more seating when we have family and friends over for a holiday cookout so all the room on the porch is used and we even spill out into the yard.

Patriotic Decor in Pastels, Roses from my Garden, & More

I do traditional colors for Memorial Day in the front yard,  but in our home I like to use colors that are a better fit with my decor.

Cozy Front Porch Furniture Arrangement & Budget Decorating Idea's

We don't clean the furniture on the porch very often,   but it was time to drag it out to the drive way and give it a good spring cleaning.       After it had dried and we began to put it back on the porch,   I didn't want to just put it back where it came from.

Home is Where the Herd Is

I don't live on a farm anymore,   but for me Farmhouse decorating is more of a "feeling" than a location.     So,  with that being said.....my home will always be "Where the Herd" is.     I am partial to cows but I love all farm animals.....sheep,  pigs,  chickens,  all of them!

Vintage School Desks are a Decorators Dream

For years now,   H has been keeping an eye out for an old school desk that had just the right amount of charm,  was in pretty good condition,  and of course at a price that he could be excited about....lol!      He found 'THE ONE"  over the week end at a yard sale.   I was jumping for joy when he found it since old school desks are a decorator's dream

Classy Cow Decor in the Bathroom

We've finished the planting,  pruning and cleaning portion of what we needed to get done in the yard,   so I've had a little free time to play around in the house.
Several weeks ago,    I fell in love with some pictures of cows showering in a bathtub that I felt would look great in the hall bathroom.

Celebrating Mother's Day in the Sun Room

This is the first time I've ever decorated any area in our home for Mother's Day and I enjoyed doing it so much that I am already planning how to do it again next year.     I decided to do my decorating in the sun room since our family spends a lot of time there.....and I picked the Stock tank buffet to create my design on.

Seamless Transitioning from Outdoors to Indoors for the Summer

My plan for this summer is to make the transition from outdoors to indoors as seamless as possible.    I hope to accomplish that by decorating the first room you enter as you come into our home in a light & airy garden theme.
When you enter the house from the back yard,   you come directly into the sun room.   The sun room is filled with lots of plants and white wicker furniture that make the transition seamless.

Farmhouse Coffee Table Centerpiece

The Farmhouse coffee table in the family room is pretty good sized so I have to be careful not make it look too cluttered.      The coffee table just floats in the center of the family room so I don't have to allow room for drinks on it or anything else other than a pretty centerpiece.

One Month Later......It's Amazing How things have changed

H & I were relaxing on the back porch today and I couldn't help but notice how much the yard and porch has changed in  just a month!

Garden Ladders, Tiered Enamel Pan Planters, Tote Container Gardening, and More

Ladders used to be one of my favorite ways to add whimsy to our yard.     After using them for years in the yard,   I eventually got tired of them and sent them to the "Junk Yard" behind the Studio.    H & I have been working hard to get the Junk Yard under control and I've had to make some hard decisions to either bring things out of retirement,   send them to the auction,   & some of them just need to go to the trash!

New Bedding & a Bee Theme in the Spring Master Bedroom

I absolutely love linens.....especially bed linens.        I have lots of linen cabinets so I haven't run out of room to stash them yet,  but I'm getting dangerously close!

White Enamel Planter & a Spring Chicken in my After Easter Kitchen

The Easter decor that I had in the kitchen has been put away,  so now what?    Since it's still spring,   I decided to go with that but with a less cluttered look than I had in the kitchen for Easter.   It's hard not to get carried away when decorating with all those sweet bunnies at Easter!

Seasonal Decorating After Easter

What do we do when Easter is over.....just wait until it's time to decorate for summer?   NO!  There's still a lot of Spring left,   so leave out the decor that isn't too Eastery.   There's lots to celebrate in May....  May Day,   Mothers Day,   & Memorial Day just to name a few,  so why not add some holiday decor to what is left of the spring stuff!    That's exactly what I decided to do to the mantel in the family room until it's time to decorate for Summer.
