Where do I store it All

Where do you store it all????   I get that question all the time from my blog readers.

First let me say that we live in a custom built home with a floor plan that paid special attention to storage.

On the right are the built in cabinets in the hallway that takes you to the  3 bedrooms, 2 baths,  and the utility room.    I moved the milk glass that was in these cabinets for the last few years to the built in cabinets in the family dining room.    My linen closet in the utility room was out of control,  so I decided to move the table linens to the hall cabinet and leave the  bed linens in the utility room closet.
Before I show you the new linen storage ,  I wanted to show you some of the other changes I made in the hallway.    I moved the small table you see  under the mirrors in the photo on the left and replaced it with a larger table that was in the entry way as you can see in the photo on the right.      I  replaced the the long picture above the big mirror at the end of the hall with a print that I bought at a yard sale not long ago.....$2.

I love the little vignettes in the picture.....

Now to the linen storage .......

I have collected table linens for years and love to do pretty tablescapes when we have company    I have all my tablecloths in one place now,  the place mats are all together,   the table runners are on the same shelf.....

I have all my napkins in one place......

Napkin rings  are all together.
I can't tell you how much I love having everything together....in one place!

I only needed one hamper for dirty clothes,  so I took the other one and put all my white crocheted pieces in it.    There is not a good way to store all the odd shaped  crocheted pieces that I have ....at least not one that I know of.....and by doing them this way,  I can just rummage thru the hamper til I find the one I'm looking for!     I am storing my pink crocheted pieces in the open area on the right......again in a way that I can just dig thru them til I find the one I'm looking for.

I made a assemblage of sewing machine drawers to decorate the top of the table on the opposite wall.
I have a drawer holder from a old sewing machine cabinet as the base.....the bottom part is two drawers back to back...then a single  drawer in the center,  and a single drawer at the top.     I filled the two bottom drawers with flowers,  the center drawer is empty, and the top drawer has hearts made from chenille spreads in it.

I have an empty frame,  some  pin cushions, and a bowl of white buttons in front of my sewing machine drawer assemblage.

To the side of the cabinet I have a display of vintage irons.......
Those little thimbles belonged to my grandmother.....

If my linens need to be pressed .....I have plenty of irons handy...lol!

To the right of the photo,  you can see I even have a sewing machine handy......

If I need to do repairs on my table linens....lol!

What's next?    I need to organize the linen closet in the utility room!

The closet in the utility room stores bedding that we use,   vintage bedding that I collect,  curtains,  vintage dresser sets, and anything else I have been able to stuff in there!     I am out in the yard more and more,  so I'm not really sure when this project will get to the top of my to do list,  but I will do a post when I get it done.

  1. How wonderful to have all of that storage and room for all of your goodies. My new home has an amazing amount of storage. I haven't quite figured out exactly how I want to use it all as of yet. I will fill it up pretty quickly I'm sure. LOL

    Have a good week.

  3. I envy all the wonderful storage. I hang my smaller linens on a tablecloth hanger, I press them and just drape them over and a lot fits on one hanger. I also like to starch all of them so everything is crisp and ready to go. Love lines and all things dainty.
