Thanksgiving Tablescape

With Halloween behind us now,  it's time to turn our attention to Thanksgiving.

I like to play with several different tablescapes before I decide on the one I will use Thanksgiving day.........

I have a set of fall dishes that I like to use for our Thanksgiving dinner but today I though I would see how milk glass would look on the table.     I already had a large milk glass platter,  and I found 3 more at a yard sale over the week end   ($7 for the three of them)

I layered a party plate on top of the platters......I thought it would be fun to serve the salad on them or use them for dessert and coffee after dinner.

I have several different glasses on the table to choose from....

You may have noticed that I have several different butter dishes on the table.....my family loves their butter and bread!

I plan to use the silver that I purchased at the auction a few years ago....

I bought it because it has our daughters last name initial on it.    Someday it will be hers,  but for now I'm going to use it for Thanksgiving dinners.

This is the sixth time I have used the existing tiered stand sitting on a mirror

This time I have placed jeweled fruit,  pearls and grapes on the tiers.....

I have ferns on each end of the tiered stand and milk glass candle holders on the mirrored tray

If I decide to use this tablescape Thanksgiving day,   I will use silver pieces to serve the food.       Have you started thinking about what you will serve for Thanksgiving dinner and how you will set the table?

  2. Sweet table, Penny. Those milk glass settings were really popular back in the 50s and 60s. I think everyone I knew that got married in the 60's got a set of those dessert plates with the matching cup. Fun to see them again. xo Diana

  3. Gorgeous as always! I love checking your beautiful pictures to lift my spirits! My Mom has a big collection of milk glass, too; so this was almost like going to visit her house today. I know she would love your tablescape.

  5. Penny,
You know I love those pilgrims!! And the milk glass is stunning and looks so elegant!! A truly beautiful table. I don't decorate for Thanks giving as I like to have Christmas almost done by Thanksgiving. I hope to have it entirely done by Thanksgiving so I can sit back and relax....
