When it' too hot to be outside.....what do you do? Have an ice cream party inside! |
I decided to use the candle stand that I bought at a yard sale 2 weeks ago. |
I filled my candle stand with faux mud pies and cakes......some petit fours |
My centerpiece is faux, but all the sweets we'll have to eat will be real....and delish! |
I had a lot of fun making my mud pastries. If you would like a short tutorial on how I made them click here......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2017/03/mud-pies-and-pink-garden-hose-spring.html |
I have the table set with dishes to make ice cream sudae's.......floats......splits.....what ever your sweet tooth wants! |
I have big spoons and small spoons.......no knives or forks are needed for ice cream treats |
The place settings are all similar....... |
To the side of the table is the pass thru to the kitchen. I hung a "sweet" ice cream banner....... |
All of my ice cream decor came from Joann's clearance isle..... |
Some of the ice cream on the banner is sparkly..... |
I have fun paper napkins......and more sundae dishes and float glasses...... |
At the end of the dining room table is a Duncan Phyfe table/buffet. |
I have it decorated with more ice cream bowls and plates |
I added a Chocolate set to the vignette.... just for fun! I wonder how hot chocolate would taste poured over some ice cream....hmmmm |
More plates and cups..... |
An indoor ice cream party........what fun! |

Very cute display, Penny! I love your home! Reminds me of a friend, Gloria, who decorated like you do but is now living with her daughter and family. An ice cream party is always fun!!! I pinned a ton and will be looking up your mud pie tutorial. I left my styrofoam "cake" and "piece" in storage in California, so... it might be nice to make a couple of new ones!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Barb :)

ReplyDeletePenny, your home and decor is always amazing! I don't know where to look next. If I were there in person...oh! I would be stopping at every little thing to get the story on it. I LOVE that cupcake stand thing on your table! You bought that at a garage sale??! What a lucky find! Your ice cream banner is lovely too.
