Fall Front Porch

Years ago, we extended our long narrow concrete porch by adding a bump out wood deck.    The deck provided a wonderful large area to entertain friends & family for many years.  The wood needed to be replaced this summer, so we had to decide.....replace the deck....or just tear it out and go for a completely new look for the front yard

We went for the new look option, and I couldn't be more pleased!  In this photo you can see that the deck extended clear out to the fountain & if you look closely, you can see a concrete sidewalk existed under the deck

There was a fence around the deck and a faux fireplace that blocked our view of the street.    Now H & I can enjoy a glass of wine and watch the cars going by about quitting time.   We are both retired and are super glad to no longer be part of the "quitting time" traffic!

I have created several vignettes along the long narrow concrete porch.

A 5x7 rug is a perfect fit in front of the front door....

I have a beautiful fall wreath hung on the door....

I have scattered white vintage metal chairs along the area between the porch and the sidewalk

I created a cozy sitting area on this end of the porch...

Roosters are the stars in some of my vignettes.

Colorful fall Roosters are the stars in this vignette....

It's only been about six weeks since we had the deck removed
so, this area is still a work in progress

I have an idea as to how I can give more eye appeal to the area where the fountain is .....
See you soon with updates!
