Vintage Lace

We went to an auction on Saturday.  I had been home all week with the flu and really enjoyed  being out of the house for the day.  I bid on lots of great stuff , but..... the only thing that came home with me was this wonderful box of lace.

I got this box for $17.50 and it is full of  beautiful lace....

My camera does not do this lilac lace justice.....it is such a soft color and is very wide lace (about 8")

This lovely aqua lace is about 4" wide...
This lace is about 6" wide...
There are 2 bolts of this one...it is just gorgeous!  Can you see the touches of pink?   It is about 5" wide.
Some ruffled lace....

Peach, pink, white.....

more lilac lace....

I can't wait to do a project with this scalloped lace...

There was lots of cream colored lace......all about 4' wide.

This is some 6" wide aqua lace....

Well, I put it all back in the box and it is headed to the studio.....I can't decide what to make first with all this beautiful lace to choose from!

  2. Penny,
I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. The flu that is going around really takes a lot out of a person so it is good to hear that you have recovered and are up and about.
LOVE all of this wonderful lace!!! Beautiful!
I have been getting bags of goodies from time to time from a fellow crafter who goes to our church who is cleaning out her stash. She said it either goes to me or to Salvation Army so I have gotten lace, ribbon roses, trims , wreaths and all kinds of goodies from her. It is so kind of her to pass them my way...
Now I need time to be able to do something with them.... LOL!!

Take care and I hope you continue to feel better...

    Hugs,
    Deb

  7. Wow, you got a great lot with that lace. Almost two years ago, when I was visiting in Maine, I went to an antique auction and won the bid on some great vintage and antique lace and crochet. I was so excited and am still enjoying it so I know how exciting that win was for you. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

  42. What a fun and wonderful win! It's like Christmas just sitting down and going through all of this beautiful lace! I am a bit of a lace and trim hog myself. LOL I was just talking to a girlfriend earlier today because she is trying to finish a project and ran out of lace. She is stopping by later to try and match her lace to all of mine. We actually met when we both worked at JoAnn Fabrics. We even were roommates at one time. You should have seen our apartment...fabric, lace, trims everywhere all the time and two sewing machines were always set up on your dining room table! I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day!
