There is a sweet little Easter scene in each one of them... |
The work on these is just amazing... |
such detail... |
someone put a lot of work into these... |
they are very fragile, but I will carefully pack them away until next Easter! |
I also found this sweet bunny cup for $1.75... |
and this Dept 56 bunny.. |
$2.50! |
This vintage spring plate was only $1.50... |
This all came from a different sale... I got the cherub plaque for 2.50. I can't wait to paint it white and distress it! The ornaments were $1..everything was half price there also! |
Happy Birthday sweet friend!... it sounds like you had a most wonderful day... love all of your vintage finds... that Desert Rose was such a great price, I love it!... and the cute little "Dora" on your fridge from your granddaughter... priceless!... xoxo Julie Marie

Your sugar eggs remind me of the ones my mother used to make for Easter every year and sell in her bakery. She spent weeks making the eggs from scratch and then decorating them so beautifully. I still have 2 that I saved from 1985, the last year she made them. They are a little worn but I love them anyway.
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday. I too am 100+ miles away from Amarillo. Maybe I need to run up there for some estate sales! You found some real joys. I know that you will love using those sugar eggs and the bunnies next year. Thanks for sharing. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Penny. Your little sugar eggs take me back to my childhood. Every Easter one of these sugar eggs would be in our basket. They are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI used to see lots of these eggs but haven't in several years. Great finds at the sales. Blessings, Debbie
ReplyDeleteYou're my kind of girl!! Celebrating a birthday with a road trip that includes stopping at estate sales! Those sugar eggs brought back memories.. they were so common years ago. And I can remember church bazaars where the ladies got together to make them. Carefully scooping up the sugar and pressing it into moulds. Decorating each one with care! You really got some lovely treasures that day!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect way to celebrate your birthday.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you be a part of "Oh, the PLACES I have been!"
