I needed a few more flags than I had so I headed to ..... |
the Dollar Store of course! |
I have some Geraniums in the washers... |
I have flags hung on all three clotheslines... |
They look so pretty blowing in the wind... There is still a puddle of water around the washing machine, we got some much needed rain last night... |
I can see the flags from my chair in the kitchen... |

Oh how cute Penny! I need a clothesline now.
ReplyDeleteI do remember how wringer washer and put rubber diapers through that wringer diapers and explodes and I ruined a couple of shirts
ReplyDeleteDid you ever get anything caught in a wringer?or ruined a couple of shirts?
Penny,
ReplyDeleteLove this sweet garden vignette!! I have to go to the Dollar store now and look for those flags.... So cute. What I am really enamored with are those vintage washing machines. My Mother ,who would have been 94 this year, always had a wringer washer because she was "afraid" of an automatic washing machine! My sister and I bought her one about 5 years before my Dad passed away and she sold the house. So once again, my friend, you have brought back some cherished childhood memories. I used to hang the clothes on the lines when I was a kid all the time because as you might have guessed....Mom was afraid of dryers too!!! Our basement was heated so we hung the clothes in the basement on lines attached to the rafters in the Winter!!
Hugs,}
Deb
I love american flags and the others are very romantic.

OMG. Penny. I remember the old washing machines in the 50's!! I want one now. :) I need a clothes line. That's it. I'm pinning this also. I have lots of flags that are doing nothing. I only use one at a time!! Thanks, Penny. Linda

Doggone it, our $ stores don't have flags. Triple bummer. Wish they did I'd be hanging them off front of porch railings.
ReplyDeleteBoy seeing your wringer washers really brings memories back for me. I had to use one of those babies for years when my kids were born/little (all 3 of them). Good old cloth diapers hanging on the lines even in winter as we didn't have dryers yet then either. It wasn't til youngest was born before disposable diapers appeared in stores in CoSprings, CO 1970. How spoiled we've all gotten now. One of the first things I had hubs do when we bought this place was put poles up and get my lines ready. I love to hang laundry, go figure. Your flags look so pretty on your lines next to your old washers. Great use for them, planters.
What a cute way to display your flags. I especially love the wringer washer. I remember my Mom having one and we always had to be careful not to get our hands caught in it. Several people talked about cloth diapers, which is all we had. I bought some a few years ago at a garage sale and they make the best dusting cloths.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Bev
I have hung many cloths on a line but never flags. A perfect idea for Memorial day. Smart thinking.

What a cute idea! Man I wish I had saved a washer or 3 from my parents farm. They were used by my Grandmother while my Dad was growing up. Love your geraniums in them...I never thought geraniums were very special. My Mom had them all over. As I grow older I am developing a real respect for them. LOL Whats easier to grow or propagate??!
ReplyDeleteI'm about to inherate one of those windmills from my son and his wife. They just bought their first home and it came with one right in the center of their front lawn...just not their style I guess ;) Hadn't thought of painting it. Great idea, pink fins would look so unique and sweet!
Love your gardens and yard
