There was a large serving platter that I thought made a fun dinner plate....for a hearty eater! |
There were 3 soup/salad bowls, 4 dinner plates, 5 dessert plates, and 1 saucer....no cups. |
One pretty serving bowl .... |
and I thought this teapot that I already had was a pretty good match to the dishes. |
The auction had a whole table of mismatched dishes and I chose these for $7.50. |
They are so pretty! And you got them for a steal!

So Pretty, Penny!! Love the pattern! I have been getting rid of some dishes as I packed up everything from the hutch and buffet in the DR. Just no where to store them all....

What a delightful tablescape you have presented with your charming auction dishes.
ReplyDeleteSp lovely. Pretty dishes remind me of another time, when life was slower and pretty mattered. We've reverted to ever-functional Fiesta, but I do miss the elegance of china.

ReplyDeleteHey Penny,I always love to visit with you.Lovely as always great find on those dishes.Hope to here from you again soon,Hugs Peggy
ReplyDeleteLovely dishes! You did well. The mark means that they were made in March of 1945 in the Newell plant #6 (Newell, West Virginia). I am pretty sure this is the Republic shape. The patternes were usually given a number, not a name, although there are exceptions. Also many of the same decals were used on different shapes. Wonderful dishes at a great price! I know you will enjoy them.
