They were a little too plain for my taste, so I added some Pennytouches to them! |
I am using a pink rose theme for Thanksgiving this year...... |
so, I made Mrs Pilgrim a pretty pink apron, added some pink fabric to her collar, some pretty lace, and 2 pink fabric roses. |
I added some pink rose fabric to Mr Pilgrim's hat, some fabric buttons, fabric to his collar, and a fabric rose. |
These pilgrims were made in Sayre, Ok (they are marked on the back). I love the way their faces are carved...lots of detail. Whoever made these did an amazing job! |

Adorable! What a unique find and I loved the way you have dressed them up and added some bling to them. Someone really did do an amazing job carving the faces.

The pilgrims, I'm sure, would approve if they knew then how a little color, a little fun adds such joy to our lives.

I don't do Thanksgiving decorating because I go right into Christmas. I am so behind though this year that it is not funny. I am thinking that i may not get to decorate the upstiars this year with everything that I have going on..... If I don't. then I don't.... There will always be next year...
Hugs,
Debbie
Penny, your pilgrim couple looks adorable with their touches of pink. They are really very cute and you did well to pick them up. Thanks for sharing them at my HOME and enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
The Pilgrims are probably rolling in their graves since you prettIed them up when they were supposed to be staid and stern. They just did not have a Penny around back then to straighten them out. Those two are definitely pieces of folk art and for that price they were a steal. Love their faces.
