Shabby Rose Mantle

Do you want your fireplace mantle to be romantic?  a little shabby?  well......maybe this post will give you some inspiration!
This precious little "couple" are the centerpiece of my mantle, but you could use a beautiful framed wedding photo or maybe a pair of romantic figurines.
Candles are one of the best ways to add romance, so I have a large cream candle on each of  the fireplace "pillars".   H added a dimmer switch to the matching chandeliers on each  side of the fireplace ...another way to add romantic lighting!
This is a faux fireplace, but I am able to add a glow to the opening with just a simple light behind the vintage heater.
Roses and cherubs also add to the mood.....
Since this fireplace is in the dining room, I used tea cups and serving pieces in the decor.....

Here is a close up of the framed tea cups on the left side of the fireplace....just in case you might want to make one.   Look for a frame, some dishes, buttons, and pearls at a yard sale and you can make one for very little money.  Saving money is a wonderful way to put hubby in a romantic!

Do you see my pink light bulb in the right corner of the photo?  Pink light bulbs have a very romantic to use them!

I have odds and ends dishes and some depression glass displayed on the etagere's that are on each side of the fireplace .......another idea would be some wedding keepsakes to add to the romantic mood.   Or, some romantic Christmas decor...just thinking ahead.....tehee!

Decorating doesn't have to be expensive.   The flowers that I used on the fireplace were a yard sale find....all for $4.  Here is the link to that post........
I now have the key elements in place  to make this my Romantic Thanksgiving and/or Christmas mantle ....just by replacing and adding a few things!   Be back in a few weeks to show you the changes...see you then!
