Kyleigh calls this old ice box her pantry....it has her dishes in it. |
I let her use my old toaster and small coffee pot....there isn't much around here that I don't let her play with. She is pretty careful and we haven't lost too many things....yet....lol! |
Here is Kyleigh's little stove....it is just her size! It belonged to my dad...... |
I painted one of H's mixers.....you saw in an earlier post that he has about 20 of them so I'm hoping he won't miss just this one.....anyway, I gave it a coat of pink enamel paint. |
The drawer is full of old cooking gadgets that Kyleigh uses to mash potato's....etc. The rest of the cabinet is empty , but I'm sure she will find something to put in there! |
Here is Kyleigh's baby nursery.......she also calls it her "clinic" She has a bunch of medical supplies in that white wicker hand bag sitting by the cabinet. |
She wanted more babies, but I put my foot down and said "this is all you have room for" |
I found this cute light at a yard sale a while back for a couple of dollars.... |
No wall......................................................................................Locker and cabinet "wall" |
Front side of locker wall, work area for me ................................................back side of locker wall, play room for Kyleigh |
I bet you are wondering what is behind this door! Well, it's my worst nightmare.....a big messy store room! I don't know if I'll ever be able to get it in good enough shape to show anyone...lol! |
And here is Miss Kyleigh....... |
She loves here play kitchen..... |
You are the best grandma EVER. I would never leave here. I live in it. I love pretend so much when I was little. Well.....I never grew up though. I still play house. Everyday. LOL (((hugs)))

ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite post of the week! You have inspired me to make a home-making area for the little 8 yr old girl I watch once a week. She LOVES babies! Thank you for sharing this pink dream.

This is great! I'm currently working on making a play kitchen from an old entertainment center. Almost done. Yours is so vintage and pretty....love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky little girl! I remember my play kitchen from when I was little and have such wonderful memories. Your granddaughter is sure to have great memories to carry with her for a lifetime too! I don't have grandchildren yet, but I hope I am able to create wonderful spaces like that for them when I do have them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place for a little girl to play. I am too old to babysit or do any childcare anymore...and my daughter's, the grandma's are the ones that get to do that. However..I do have one end of my livingroom that is for little granddaughters, or any little girl that comes to visit..and a shed full of toys, a tent and big wagon etc. It all comes out when they come to visit.
ReplyDeleteYour little granddaughter is a beautiful child! :)
OH MY GOODNESS. I have long since stopped playing "house"... but this set up makes me REALLY want to! It is possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen! I found you via Coloradolady's link up. I am starting to host a new link up on Fridays and would LOVE for you to come link up! :)

What a wonderful play space, Penny! I'm currently searching Craigslist for something compact that I can transform into a play kitchen for my five-year-old granddaughter. She would absolutely love Kyleigh's dreamy pretend kitchen and doll nursery.
