Displaying Your Vintage Aprons

I use my vintage linens to decorate the house with all the time.    I collect vintage tablecloths,  pillow cases,  sheets,  doilies,  if it's cloth....I love it!   Today I thought I would share with you some of the ways that I have used vintage aprons to decorate the kitchen.
In the photo above,  I have used small white tacks to attach three white aprons to the doors and wall above the kitchen range.  I didn't like how they looked just hung there,  so I gathered them in different places to add some texture.

Here are the same three aprons tied to a tension rod to make a curtain across the kitchen window.

Here they are again on the same tension rod across the coffee bar.

The apron that I have used as a slip cover on my wicker chair is one of those that ties around your neck and also at the waist.

I like to hang aprons to add some softness to a vignette that has several "hard" pieces like this one with the hard wood table and ceramic pig.

Here is the same apron that you just saw in the photo before this one,  but now it is an  "island runner"    In the background,  you can see where I have tied two aprons to the oven doors.

I added a long white apron to the front of my pink drape just to add a little texture.

And here is that same long white apron tied to the end of the coffee bar.   I tied it there until I had time to make a curtain to go all the way around the bar.
I hope I have been able to give you some ideas of how to display your vintage aprons!

  4. Because of you, sweet lady, I am using my crocheted runners etc. in a lot more ways...and today a pretty runner out of that tea cup material arrived. A lady from Maine made it and it's got a soft flannel backing and hand croched edging worked around the edges..it's lovely and it didn't go on any table. It went over the back of my oak rocker. I cannot paint it as it was a gift from my late husband and I cherish it...and the table runner really softened it up! You give me such GREAT idea's.
