Tea Room Tour

I am so excited to have the tea room finally finished and ready for a tour!

Come on in.....

I wanted to use a pair of lamps that belonged to my mother and  so I built the whole color scheme of the room around them.

It was quite a challenge because the color of the lamps is not one I normally use.....

I had to select the accent pieces very carefully....
I am very happy with the result!

Here is what that side of the room looked like when it was a potting shed.

There are two entrance doors to the tea room.....one reason is because it is made from vintage doors that we had collected for years.   H put them all together and made a room that is approx.  6 x 9.....it's 3 doors wide by 2 doors deep.

I showed you this side of the room in a previous "sneak peek" post.       I've made a few changes since you last saw it....

I added some flowers to the lamps....

Kyleigh wanted her musical angels in our tea room,  so I have one on each end table

I put a pitcher and wreath on this chair for the photo,  but it will normally hold one of Ky's dolls at the tea party....

Here is our bench.....

oops .....I almost forgot to show you a before photo of that side .

H put big shelves all  around the tea room to hold my big cakes,  tea pots,  and tea cups....

before....
The back side of the room is made from the sliding glass doors that were hung between the family room and the sun room.
Here is the door that that sits between the two front doors.

Ky has her favorite tea pot ready for tea this afternoon....

Here is how that space looked before

Here is the upper part of that door....

and how it looked before....

I hope you enjoyed my tea room tour.

It took a long time to finish the transformation  from potting shed to tea room,  but it was so worth it!

  6. Well done, Penny and Co!

I am praying you aren't living in an area that has earth tremors though - hopefully not, that'd be awful!

One has so much to see and admire in this amazing space - yes indeed it is a big girls play house.

Your Momma's lamps was a wonderful inspiration to work around and you nailed it perfectly. : - )

  28. Penny, I am tickled to see that you didn't paint these gorgeous lamps. Love what you did with the shades. I am happy to be going home with H's mom's vintage lamp with roses....I had forgotten she offered it to us because it was too big to ship and being 95 she was not up to the task. Am looking forward to deciding where to put it in our home.
