Lazy Summer Days on the Front Porch

We have been sitting on the front porch sipping sweet tea today.     Our front porch faces the north so it is in the shade most of the day....plus there are a lot of trees in the front yard.   We live on a very busy street and it is fun to sit on the porch and watch the traffic go by.

The focal point of the porch is the faux fireplace that H built last year from a dresser top he bought at the auction.

I have a mirror in the fireplace opening that reflects the coffee table in front of it.    My roses are about to go "on break"  for a few weeks ,  so I put petals from some fading roses on a pretty plate and covered it with a chicken wire cloche.  Simple centerpiece....

I have two vintage metal gliders on the porch....

I covered the glider in the above photo with a yard sale comforter....

The other glider is at the far right of the photo....

I have the seat on it covered with a home made "sheet pad" and a two coordinating pillows.

We have a wrought iron table sandwiched between the two white gliders and two wicker settee's.   You can see our little guest trailer from the front porch.

I went out and  cut the last of the roses for a few weeks and made a pretty bouquet for the coffee table in front of the wicker settee's..

Did you notice that I took the centerpiece from the table and put it on the coffee table.....I can't fool ya'll can I...lol!

I would love to have glider..but I've run out of room. I think I would toss something if I were to run across one. :) AND MAKE ROOM! :)

  17. Hi Penny,
I love your blog and your posts on Romantic Homes Magazine's Facebook page!
I want to hang some things on the front of my house but my husband says no screws or nails in the vinyl siding. Do you have any ideas as to what else will work? Thank you in advance, your style is so inspiring! ~Elaine W

  18. Such a sweet space to relax and enjoy the breeze. How do you keep it all so clean? My screened porch gets so dusty and full of pollen.
Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
