When H started to remove the old baseboards he ran into some problems....as you can see in the before photo on the left. H used a crow bar to try an pry them loose, but that didn't work. To add more of a problem, the baseboards weren't removed when the ceramic floor tile was laid, so the grout was glued to the baseboard. It looked like the wall would be torn up and also the floor tile if we continued to try to remove the baseboards. What could we do......the larger new baseboard fit right over the old one! Who knew you could install right over the existing baseboards! He added a small strip of trim board to the top of the new baseboard......the trim matches the one we are using around the ceiling over the border. |
The bathroom is gorgeous...Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when plan B or C work out just as beautifully as you thought plan A would! Love the new baseboard with the fancy trim piece added! Enjoy finishing the last wall! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeletePink and aqua can look good together with right shades! Start picking color swatches and then shop with them.
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks stunning!! I just saw a post on another blog recently where they put the larger molding right over the basic moulding. When we did the downstairs remodel, they installed 6 inch moulding in the Powder Room and I love it!!

Bonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteUne envie de musarder dans votre salle de bain !... Quel romantisme... J'aime beaucoup.
Gros bisous ♡
The new baseboard is beautiful! Have fun decorating, I know but will be gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteGreat idea- love it! I also love the embossed wall paper in the bathroom. I bought two rolls from the thrift store last summer to use in making tussie-mussies for this Christmas (Easter and spring- whenever inspires me). The two huge rolls would probably been sufficient for my tiny guest bath. Who knew- I never though of using it as... wallpaper!?!
ReplyDelete"Necessity is the Mother-of-Invention"…or so the saying goes. All great innovations arise from solving problems, and your solution is gorgeous---and proves it!
ReplyDeleteI' m curious to see what you do!

Beautiful! I love that wallpaper and the base is a perfect companion to it. A blessing in disguise. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom looks great! You are scaring me a little about that baseboard. I'm planning to rip mine out of the master bathroom next weekend and switch them out for taller ones. Hopefully they come out easily! Thanks for sharing at Inspiration Thursday!
