Container Gardening

The last few years,   I have found that I like container gardening  better than putting my plants in a "fixed flower bed"    It works better for me to be able to easily move a plant if I want to.    Plant getting too much sun ?....move it.    Need a little color somewhere else in the yard ?....move a pot of color in.

I have filled  this old wooden tool box with several pots of flowers....

Isn't this a fun way to group petunia baskets together...

I put flowers in the front and back baskets on the bicycle.....and hung a basket of flowers on the tricycle's  handlebars,

Here I have put three baskets of flowers  in a pink flower "bed"

A concrete donkey with two containers of flowers..............

Wicker chairs with buckets of flowers in the seat....

A buggy with two pots of geraniums....

Concrete pot + chandy+pot of pertunia's = a fun container

I can set this hanging basket in a chair or hang it somewhere else in the yard....

In this bed,   I have some baskets of flowers as well as some plants in the ground.     The plants that are in the ground are ones that come up every year.

Small plants in a carpenter box....

a wire basket of flowers
Old metal buckets are always fun to put plants in.

Our kids used to play with this old wagon.    H painted it white a couple of years ago...love the big rubber tires
Vintage washing machine full of zucchini plants....

I have about 5 pots of flowers on this wooden hay wheel  barrow.....

A n old rusted grocery cart as a container.................

I've even put pots of geraniums in the back of our pony buggy.
Since I started container gardening,  I look at things in a different way....I ask myself....can I use this to hold flowers in the garden????

The type of containers in which you have displayed all your flowers is simply amazing!! You are so creative in your displays!! Your flowers look great. mine are starting to suffer from the heat and humidity that we are having here even though I am watering them daily...... Temps. in the high 70's coming for the end of the week...Thank Goodness!! I truly HATE this heat!!

  3. OMG, you have me beat by oodles of containers…so much fun! If it doesn't run away, put a plant in it.
My favorite is the candelabra pot---love the earthiness and vintage look of the pot and then the exuberance
of glorious petunias and the dazzling crystals…too much, FUN!

Odd looks over my doorways but I don't care. It's my own idea. Never saw it in a magazine..and I'm loving in. (I don't pay any attention to tall people or my daughters! LOL
