Guest Bath Reveal

We finished the guest bath yesterday and I couldn't wait to give you a tour.

We replaced the pink wall paper with paintable wallpaper,  now I can paint the room any color I want.   But for now,  I want the walls a neutral color.
I don't think I have ever photographed this room with the door shut.   The full length mirror has always been there.

I scaled back on the amount of "stuff" I put on the vanity and I like the less cluttered look .     I concentrated on a  selection of pretty hand soaps, lotions  and soft towels for my guests.........less fufu.

The wood piece you see on the opposite wall came from the hallway as did the two pieces below it.

I'm sure you all remember seeing my heart wreath before......many many times....it's one of my favorites.   I moved it in from the entry.   I am clearing out some of the stuff in the entry and will put fall decor in it's place.

The opposite wall got new wall decor.

We took out the shelving unit and replaced it with a vanity to coordinate with the one across from it.

I shopped the house for the majority of the accessories that you see on the vanities.

I have had this bust for many years and decided to use her as the focal point of the vanity.

I moved the lamps that were in the entry to the guest bath.

I put a mirror on each side of her,  and tried to keep a less cluttered look on this vanity as well.

The pearl Faith sign on this wall and the Hope sign on the opposite wall came from the 90% off isle at HL.

The new soaps, lotions,  and  hand towels came from Tuesday Morning and TJ Maxx.      The cute owl is from Joann's

I don't think this metal piece was meant to hang hand towels on,   but that was what I chose it for   (Michaels)

I used a candelabra to set some hand soap on.

I hung an architectural  piece over the toilet and replaced the chandy .    The chandy we took down had two lights that didn't work....it just needs to be rewired and I will find a new home for it.

I put some reading material near by....in case you need to sit a spell!

I went to a simpler window treatment and neutral rugs.

H and I really enjoyed doing this project and I am very pleased with the new look!

  4. I can't believe I am saying this, but sometimes less is more. The eye can focus on all the lovely architectural details you have added to this room. And the wallpaper recedes into the neutral palette, really loving this space now, wonderful finish!

  10. Beautiful makeover - great new look! It's funny, but I also had so many "treasures" decorating every inch of my home, but as I get older, I am slowly purging and going for a less cluttered look. I do love my stuff, but am also loving a lighter and "less is more" look too. I really, really like your wallpaper - it definitely makes the room with its added texture.
