What better time than the holidays to have a wine tasting party |
You can have a party with very little work.......wine, cheese, assorted breads, nuts, some fruit. No cooking! |
I have the family dining room decorated for Christmas, so let's have the party there.... |
Have your guest bring a bottle of their favorite wine |
Dig out your prettiest glasses....they don't have to be wine glasses..... |
Have stacks of small plates for your guests to fill with simple finger food..... |
I also wanted to show you how elegant simple glass plates on a place mat of sheet music can be.... |
Pretty napkins..... |
I made a quick centerpiece by stacking three dishes, then I filled the dishes with wine corks, pearls and hand painted ornaments. |
I set my stack of crystal dishes in a tutu wreath that I normally hang on the wall..... |
I would rather serve simple store bought snacks and enjoy the party....who wants to slave in the kitchen all day and be tired at your party!!!! |
You table is beautiful. I love the idea of sheet music as placemats. I don't like wine. I've figured out I just don't like the alcohol. That's what my husband says.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table and setting! Love all of your various dishes and pieces.

Penny this is beautiful and the centerpiece is perfect. I love the addition of the decorated trees too. You always do an amazing job.
ReplyDeleteLovely and inspiring as always, Penny. What sort of store bought treats would you suggest? I'm not a chef anyway..so store bought sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Makes me think I should use some of my pretty depression glass too
ReplyDeleteWhat fun--now I think you should have a real wine party and invite your neighbors in. I bet you will get lots of ooohs and aaaahs from them. You do have some beautiful pieces, Penny! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is just gorgeous! I love all the pearls, the centerpiece...everything!
