Romantic Valentine Dinner

I am going to invite our daughter and new son in law over this week to celebrate a pre-Valentine's day dinner with H and I .

I was playing with the table setting today and thought I would share it in case you need some inspiration for your romantic dinner.

Some couples like to go out for dinner,  but we've always stayed home....the restaurants are so crowded and noisy.

You don't need to serve a complicated meal that you have to slave in the kitchen  all day....fix something simple.

It's not about the food tonight!

I just had to give you a close up of the new tea cup napkin rings that one of my dear friends gave me for Christmas....aren't they lovely?

Do you notice anything different about  the DP table that you have seen many times in the family room dining area.      I married two small round Duncan Phyfe tables to the existing rectangle table.     I can use them on the ends......or replace them with two  chairs ,,,,,or set them to the side for extra food.

I'm going to show you just how versatile DP tables can be in future posts......

But for now,  let's look at these two.

I'm going to serve the salad from this side table......

I have individual salad bowls that I will fill from the main bowl......right at the table.     I just put a little lettuce in my bowl for the photo,   I will have a nice salad for our dinner.    I'm going to repurpose the gravy bowl by filling it with salad dressing and  I have a pretty crystal dish for the crackers.

On the table at the other end,   I have cups for tea or coffee......

Or,   I can move the cups over to each place setting.

and set up a fun hot chocolate bar on the table.

I have peppermint hot chocolate,  peppermint sprinkles,  cinnamon to sprinkle, and I filled a tea pot with marshmellows

We will have steak and baked potatoes ....like I said....keep it simple!

I have the bread and butter on a nearby DP table,  but I'm not going to show it to you yet!

I have a small box of Valentine candy for each couple to share.....and of course ....some wine

If you look way over to the top right corner,   you will see....
another little table....

I have a silver wine champagne bucket on that table.    Don't worry,  I just put a bottle of my cooking wine in it for the photo.....we'll have some bubbly in the bucket for  our Valentine dinner.
