Our ornamental pear trees are budded out and ready for spring. The trees probably won't bloom for a while longer but I thought I would cut a few small twigs and try to force them to bloom in the house.
|
|
By using the gorgeous blue sky as a background, I can really see the buds...... |
|
I wanted to show off my twigs, so I decided to do a spring table in the family dining room. |
|
I had bought these springy paper plates and napkins at Joann's a few weeks ago..... |
|
I dressed my paper plates and napkins up a bit by mixing them with ironstone plates and cloth napkins.... |
|
I like to set a playful table, so I put the salad in a ice cream dish..... |
|
I mixed stripes with florals...... |
|
Battenburg lace with crocheted pieces..... |
|
The kitchen towels that matched my paper plates were repurposed by using them as placemats..... |
|
I put some pillows on the two side chairs that have the same color scheme as the table....... |
|
I remember Grandma making these pillows..... |
|
Enjoy the little things....... |

Pretty pretty pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the hints of early spring perfectly!
Send it to Ohio, please! : - )
Have a wonderful week of love! ♥♥♥
We are looking for snow here tonight in Knoxville TN. Your table looks beautiful & lots of great ideal.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tablescape - so ready for Spring to get here. My new home has a tulip tree that is all budded out. I hope we don't get a freeze that will ruin it. In Oklahoma, you never know.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Oh my goodness, Penny. So much pretty in one post! I live in Rockwall near Dallas and spring is so close for us!
ReplyDeleteI've been thru Rockwall many times....I have family that lives in Sulpher Springs!
DeleteForcing a few branches is one of the pleasures of late winter or early spring. I am always on the lookout, on my walks, for trimmings from other people's trees. There is always something different from what's in my garden, often a surprise!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, as always! I especially loved those delicate little buds with promise of spring glory.. No buds here yet but we are in the seventies today..should hit 75 degree's shortly. A very short Winter for us. It's difficult to believe what's happening on the East coast compared to here.
ReplyDeleteAn early Springtime is predicted..and I am hoping it is a long one before the terrible heat sets in.
Hugs!
Mona
Penny,
ReplyDeleteYour table truly looks like Spring has sprung there!! We had snow today and will have snow showers all week with only a high of 12 degrees predicted for Saturday!! We won't be seeing Spring here for some time...
Hugs,
Deb

ReplyDeleteHa ha, I saw those plates at Joanne's and thought of YOU!...grins, and passed them up, knowing somehow you would beat me to the punch. They were really pretty and you sent them off great with those lovely pastels. Spring must be nice...dreaming only here it's 5 degrees, Sandi
ReplyDeleteI would never have guessed the floral plates to be paper. I rarely defer to paper, but you've made such an attractive table incorporating them, you may have changed my mind!
